Is the same Climbing stick rope mod applicable to a predator? Predator is still on order so I’m prepping for its arrival.

8mm static rope instead of strap and buckle same as LW sticks. Any issues?

I think you will be find that to be a huge pain in the rectum. Get a Versa Strap if you want something light and less noisy than the factory strap. To add to that I myself wouldn't feel to comfortable with what you are talking about.

I just switched to woven daisy chain webbing for my platform and sticks. Light as a feather, zero noise and 7,000# breaking strength. AND.....it’s less than a dollar a foot.

I would just use the regular strap. Stealth strip or yakgrip it if you are concerned about noise.

I am thinking that I am going to do an amsteel rope mod to replace the cinch strap.

I made an amsteel daisy chain and it worked fine. Followed someone else's video on here. I also tried a rope mode using 8mm, it was ok. I also have a versa strap, its just ok too. I can't get the versa strap as tight as I can get the factory strap and buckle, which gives me some play in the platform at times. However I will gladly trade a little play in the platform vs using the factory buckle.

I used a 1/4" amsteel daisy chain all year on my Predator with no issues (over 70 sits) and I'm a fairly hefty guy. The daisy chain was a single brummel spiced loop in one end that I leave attached to the post and a series of brummel spiced loops from the other end that provide the position adjustment. There's a section between them where the tag ends are buried. I just wrapped it as tightly around the tree as I could and hooked to the closest available loop. I then pushed the post down to take up any slack and cammed over the platform. It worked well for me. Howeer, if you're not confident in the daisy chain the versa strap will do the same thing.

An am steel daisy chain like @boyne bowhunter uses would certainly work and be super light! If you don't want to make one the Versa Strap from Carl is another great option. I would do either of those options before the regular rope mod.

What size Amsteel are folks using to make the Daisy chain mods? I am thinking of doing some for my sticks and Predator, but not sure of the size rope to get.
