Any Minnesota meetup?

I'll be here. Sadly I dont own any land yet, otherwise I'd invite anyone over! July is a good time.....

Do you metro hunters have a in person mtg b4 yr hunt? I've been in the Duluth archery hunt for 3 yrs, we are gonna have an in person mtg this year. But besides a workmate of mine that I got into saddle hunting, I haven't met any other saddlehunter here....

I'd be willing to head to the north side of the Cities.. so a 2 hr drive for me... that's probably about as central as we can get with how weighted the SE is in terms of population.

Well, now that it's blazing hot out, is there still interest in meeting up somewhere/some time? If someone's willing to host, maybe potluck an afternoon while showing different climbing methods, saddles, etc?

If I know in advance, I'll take time off work to go...and bring some Beaver stew or Roast!

If I can stay home for more than a month at a time, and family obligations permit, I'm in. @MNFarmHunter, where are you thinking?

That's the caveat. I live in the suburbs just north of the metro. I do have a few trees we can climb but cannot shoot bows here and I'm sure the neighbors will be out watching. If we wanted less interruptions and/or shoot a few arrows, someone else would have to host.

Depending on your definition of "hosting", there's lots of public land around Bemidji. Two state parks, national forest, state forest, WMAs, etc. As long as we're not drilling holes in trees we should be spoiled for choice. Should be a similar situation around Brainerd. Stumping/small game options (I'd have to look at the regs for that) and ability to throw out a block target or two for practice shots.

Everyone ready for the season!!

Could you share what you've done on your XOP?
so far I cut off the leg straps that you would use while wearing it as a treestand harness, I've also cut off the treestand tether strap (won't be using it for a treestand). Still going to do some more trimming and what not but when I'm done I'll post a pic, keep in mind it probably won't be pretty lol.
