Any NHL fans???

My brother and I grew up in Detroit during the Yzerman/Federov/McCarty/Vernon days. Now he lives in Las Vegas, and it's his birthday this weekend, so this call happened yesterday:

Me: "Hey man, I know your birthday's coming soon, AND you finally have a hockey team to cheer for again, AND they're in the finals.. So I've had a pretty damn good year, investment wise, and I know yours was tough. How about for your birthday I hook you up to go see a game? I saw ticket's are $900+ on stubhub, but I figured I could still work it out for you AND your girl. Game 1 is at home on Monday"

Then I hung up on him abruptly - like I'd lost my phone connection or something THREE times he called me back right away and I didn't answer.

Finally called him back. "Hey, sorry - I lost my signal there. Anyway."

He cut me off, "YOU GOT ME TICKETS?!?!?" I could hear him jumping up and down, shouting to his girlfriend they were going to see a game

Me: "Uh, no man, that's crazy. I was gonna wire you $50 to take your lady out to a sports bar Monday night.. Happy Birthday, Bro!"

"Fuuuuuuuuuu*** YOU!!!" Hung up on me.

Mwahaha.
 
This Finals is a tough one for me to call. They are both good teams with some experienced players. It’s harder for me to see the Caps winning 4 games than the Golden Knights.
 
And the Capitals win and in Ontario we have a new conservative government in our province. A good night. Oh sorry politics but you guys don't care. Hockey my old favorite sport. Hunting my new favorite sport.
 
Congratulations to the Capitals and their fans. I would have loved to see Sid hoist the Cup for a third time in a row but it was good to watch Ovechkin get his first. Sad thing is all there is to watch is baseball till fall. Too slow for me.
 
Let's just start calling the metro division round the final, the rest is a foregone conclusion. I am happy for the Caps. Except Tom Wilson. Hope to see part IV next May. I do love baseball but really miss having hockey to watch as well. Not normally a big tv guy but having a newborn at home changes that for awhile.
 
I was happy to see OV get one. He deserves it, and the Caps do to.

Leafs next year?? mmmmmmm
