I am wondering if anybody has added a cam cleat to their platform and speak on their experience. Success or failures. I've thought about it but have reservations. Such as the forces applied to the cam cleat when caming the platform over. I have been (no sticking) climbing with the platform and wouldnt mind g ditching the cam buckle.

Thought about it, even if just for climbing. Wonder if on final set if a wrap around the post and then through cleat would minimize force on it.

I tried it on a treesuit and never found a way to mount it thatd let me get it cinched tight enough. But it could be a different story on a platform with a center post

Putting it on a stick where you’re using some kind of leverage to cam It down seems like a quick way to break something. If you want to use it though I would try at ground level for say like 20 cycles followed by you weighting it. This might give you a decent idea of how it hold up short term and if it’s worth keeping on or not.
If you’re using a predator or other platform that has a larger tube could you go up in cam cleat size?

I ordered the 500lb rated shafer that uses 1/4" bolts. Got the 1/4" dynema full bury on the mission ready to go. Just waiting on Amazon.

Can you link the 1/4 dynema full bury you ordered?

I installed the Schaeffer 70-27 (500lbs rating) on my mission platform. I have been trying to figure out a setup where the rope attached to the post is inline with the center on the cam cleat. @kenn1320 has been trying this aswell and was experiencing twist in the post. He drilled two new holes to center the cam cleat on the versa button hole. This seems to cause the rope to get nervously close to the batwing. I used the existing hole and drilled one new one which placed my cam cleat lower. https://saddlehunter.com/community/index.php?threads/mission-cleat.35138/post-486079

@tim_dawg22 suggested spacing the cam away from the post with washers. I went that route and used 2 thin rubber washers sandwiching 2 metal washers. That allowed the rope to be girth hitch on the front side of the post, allowing the pull to come from the front similar to a versa button. It also enabled the two attachment points to be inline with one another.

When folded shut the cam slides nicely into the cut out for the versa button.

The purpose of the nite ize is to use it as a handle to reach down and grab the platform?

Is the purpose of the bungee to reach down and easily uncam it?

How do you like the cam cleat attachment on the platform? Think it'll hold up?
I like it. No complaints so far. I did a ground test that included shaking with feet, torquing/side pressure, bouncing and a couple light jumps. Testing should be trying to go beyond the limits of what it would experience in real use. I definitely did that. No damage to any of the components. I used 3 1/2 inch grade 8 bolts. I do believe it will hold up. Schaeffer marine, these cams are meant to be used on boats exposed to the elements constantly. The little time its will spend out of its tote compared to those boats time in the water makes me think it will do fine over time.

Interesting shim idea. Not sure i would have chose rubber, as flex kills bolts. I might move mine down as it does get close to the batwing.

Correct, flex does fatigue metal when it wasn't designed for it. The washers are so thin and compressed that flex is negligible. Their only purpose is to keep things from squeaking. I had thought about nylon washers like used in alot of tree stands joints for the same purpose. There were none available in the correct size at the hardware store. I have zero concern that the bolts are going to flex to the point that a failure will occur such as them sheering off.

How is climbing with the mission in general, since its one of the bigger platforms?
