From reading, it seems deer hides aren't great for their "fur" because it's too brittle, but they make nice leather products. I'm interested in doing something nice with my next one, and I'd love to hear what y'all do (if anything) with yours.
Do you process them yourself or take them to someone?I have a couple rugs. Makes a cool end table top especially with a skull mount on top. Tack them to the wall. Sofa or chair back throw. Gillie suit....lol

I've had one sent to a tannery to soft tan. Its awesome. The ones I've done myself are somewhat stiff and can use more breaking in.Do you process them yourself or take them to someone?
