Anyone have a good system or method to cut factory feathers?

I was cutting down 5” feathers to 2.5”. I used a small Allen key as a template. I laid the tip of the feathers inside the short angle and cut with a utility knife. Then laid the back end of the feather in the long end of the key and cut the spine only with the utility knife. Peal it off and you end up with the medieval look. Very noisy. The I take a sharp scissor and cut straight up from the spine for a square back. I used such a small Allen that it only took off the very pointy part of the tip. No reshaping needed there.

That's clever, I wouldn't have thought of that. I'll probably go with the Lexan though.
