Anyone make their own game bags?

At $6/ea, it’s a great deal before shipping and most likely far better quality than what I sewed. However, I’ll take the rough edges and imperfections of a DIY if it works just as good.

they capped me at only 3 for the deer sized ones...is that normal? do you have to buy on 2 different cards to get 6?
Someone said you could call camofire and order from them, and even if the deal wasn't on their website currently, if you asked for it and they had inventory they would fulfill the order for you

Yeah, for deer-sized game I don't know why you'd use anything but.
If you shoot your deer in the morning I don’t see any issues, but if you shoot your deer In the evening I don’t see how that gives you enough time to get the deer home, wash the pilllow cases and put them back on the pillows before bed?

You must hand wash them?

We always used the old cheesecloth style game bags. We would soak them in vinegar and hot sauce prior to the hunt, dry them on a clothesline, and repack them in a ziplock bag. I never tried but always thought I could make them out of cheesecloth. The pre made ones were cheap enough so I never bothered trying.

I guess if you dont kill a deer, just eat the game bag like spicy chips?

I've used the Allen's and they work just as advertised and cleaned up well. I also have the more expensive caribou game bags and for the money thr Allen's are just as good. Havent used my pillow case.
Wife has all kinds of silly rules I am expected to follow.

Pillowcases are too big. I like the specific size game bags that keep your meat in somewhat of a certain shape. It fits in your pack better especially when it’s full of other gear.
