anyone receive a flat branch saddle recently?

good news!

I put in a dispute with AL attorney general and VISA on the same day a few weeks back.

I was just credited back the full amount by my bank VISA, despite it being outside their window.

Their reason was that the company did not give me an adequate time expectation and also didn't fulfill it.

So, even if you think VISA is a lost call, still give it a shot!
P.S. The customer service guy on the phone told me something to the effect of "this is past the deadline and so probably they won't refund your money, but i'll take down the information anyways"......so don't let a customer service person (that might not want to do their job) dissuade you, ask them to put the complaint in anyways

Raisins, that is wonderful news for you!
I purchased with Mastercard and they told me the same thing, because it was past the deadline/too many pay periods had occurred, I likely would not be eligible for a refund. Even after talking to them at length so they could take down all the details, even directing them to reviews like on their own Facebook page, Mastercard still came back and ruled against me.
As an update, I have received the following communications from the BBB and the Alabama AG:

Because the individual/company has obviously indicated an unwillingness to cooperate with this office in its role as a mediator, the Attorney General does not have authority to pursue the matter further. It is suggested that you may want to consult an attorney or consider filing a complaint in Small Claims Court.

I am not sure what, if anything, I will do at this point.
I might try reaching back out to the credit card company, and see if there is an appeal process.
I am just beyond words tbh, I have a hard time understanding how Josh and his wife are not feeling a sense of obligation and ethical duty to return our money to us.
I am also taken aback that the Attorney General does not have the authority to pursue the matter further. I have no way to know how much money Flat Branch has, at this point, essentially stollen from people, but it must be in the low 6-figures.

They are basically telling you to sue him via small claims court. Sadly many of y’all are wasting time because legal fees in small claims court costs more than the saddle or kit you purchased.

Man this sucks. I'd be willing to chip in a few bucks towards a court fees gofundme if you all wants to go down the small class route to at least try to recoup something and get more of this on public record. Not sure if that sort of thing is allowed.
If they get away with it with no negative repercussions who's to say they won't try something else with some other swindle.

could everyone that has been swindled sue them in a class action suit so that the costs are spread out?

I’m no legal expert on that but I would reach out to a lawyer and explain the situation. They usually do free consultation and it would give you an idea. I know if several people were hurt using the product a class action suit is possible but I have no idea if you can do that for not receiving a product to begin with

I would like to chip in to get you a saddle from another reputable company. Do you know which one you would like?

Unfortunately, Discover finally decided against me and I'll have to eat the $340. I'm curious to know how many people Flat Branch took advantage of. What eats at me is if they hadn't dragged us along for months about supply chain delays and staffing, we would have been within our credit card and/or PayPal's window of protection. Seems 100% deliberate. :disrelieved:

I have all of my other gear from other suppliers. If I can justify buying another saddle in time for this year, what does everyone recommend?

This has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I probably should wait to try it out this season and approach it with a fresh mind next year.

sorry to hear that, no idea what they were thinking.....i bet they consider themselves the unfortunate victim of circumstance, since most people capable of this also aren't capable of truly admitting wrong doing

they probably pocketed over 100,000 bucks...if over 333 people ordered around 300 bucks worth of stuff

this saddle is everything (and probably more) the flat branch claimed to be, very happy with it....i got one with cobra buckles on the legs also, excellent quality, comfort, and customer service

they also sell them at eastern woods outdoors

Thank you. I'll check it out.

I ordered one of these saddles when they were first released. It took a while, but it did arrive.
I know u guys dont want to hear this, but it was worth the lengthy weight. I went thru 5 other saddles, looking for one that was comfortable, light, and well made. This saddle was the only one that checked all the boxes. The thing is so comfortable.

When did you receive it?

We ordered in Oct/Nov '21 and haven't got it still. And they are not contactable. You've got a very rare item!

So it would seem.. They were a husband and wife operation. And were elderly at that if i recall.
I had no issue contacting them either. I actually made a change to my order and they did that over the phone as well.
They told me all about the supply issues. But i was also nice, respectful, and understanding when we spoke. Alot of people now a' day go right into "nasty mode" when things arent what they were told. So its no wonder they just stopped replying.
You catch more with honey than you do with vinegar =)

I was never nasty or disrespectful until they stopped responding, their website went down, and paypal and Discover told me to eat the $340. I waited 4 months from order date to reach out the first time via email and was told about the supply issues and issues finding help. I replied that I understood and would check back in a month as she requested. Checked back in a month and was told to wait another. Waited 2 months that time and then never heard back. Don't know how I could ve any nicer and would be willing to share full comms to support that. This isn't a honey/vinegar situation...
