Anyone run a pistol on saddle?

I usually wear my saddle on the walk in. This, and the walk out, is the time most would need access to a pistol. In the pack is not advantageous.

So, do any of you run one on your saddle? And if so, what is your method?

I just had a guy in Nebraska request a pistol holster attachment strap on his saddle so we added it by using 17337 mil spec webbing with a heavy duty rivet snap and sewn in 1 and 7/8 from end to the snap so it comfortably fits all holsters that utilize the standard 1.5” mollie slide. Here is a pic. We placed it on the leg strap right under the lineman’s loop so it will be at the hip without preventing use of the gear hanger or lineman’s rope. The guy used it last weekend and said it worked perfect. Just some ideas for you DIY guys

No Sir. I'm a little to plump for appendix carry.

*nice deer in the profile pic by the way.
Thanks! Looks like there’s some other good ideas mentioned above. Something I’m planning on doing this year is using QLS forks from safariland to easily move holster from waist of LWCG harness to my saddle or pack

Appendix or backpack strap carry to and from the tree, depending on which pack I'm using

While I'm still playing with my setup, right now my saddle is slick, with my pouches and holster on a separate belt / lumbar pack / buttpack. Alternately, I'll pocket carry a J-frame, but I'm also working on mounting a holster to my AGC bino pack if I want to carry a more 'substantial' pistol.

I installed a bladetech tek lok to attach to the molle on my saddle. On the tek lok I have a safariland QLS
plate screwed to it. The holes match up to pair with the qls. If you go this route use a zip tie to keep the
tek lok from opening. Even it it opens its fine & can't fall, but still a pain in the rear trying to get that little
top clip locked back over while your wearing it loaded with a hog stopper. Holster & teklok fits super tight
in the molle & there's zero slipping around. I can run with it on the saddle just the same as on a tight belt.
Who am I kidding. I can jog with it! I aint running anywhere. No bouncing. Stays put when I need it on the
draw. No up & down slop as long as I have my saddle tight.

Anyone carry a large frame revolver like a ruger Blackhawk?

This is along the lines of what I was thinking. Nice.

Well I already own a safariland level 3 retention holster and qls so it looks I'll be digging on the web tonight for those parts :grinning:

Safariland also has MOLLE panels that you can mount your QLS receiver to. I have one mounted to my Kestrel.
