Platform and a ROS?

I’ve never used ROS. Wonder if anyone does it and general thoughts.

I run a EWO stick with UP PLATFORM and ros with usually a step at 3&9 o’clock. On a real big tree I might add 1-2 more steps. Makes it easier to maneuver around the tree and when I get uncomfortable I’ll put my feet on the steps at 9&3 I imagine it feels like a Harley with highway pegs.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

I run a predator. Wonder if the extra time to strap on the steps would be worth it?

I run 6 steps on ros. I can go 360 around a tree and I can sit from sun up to sun down with out an foot issues what so ever .. ros saved two hunts for me last year when a buck came in on my non dominant side was able to arrow him at 20 yards and walked around the tree on a doe who came in straight at my tree .. tracked her full draw and arrowed her in back side ( 27” ata bow helps)

I run a predator with 3 squirrel steps (12, 4, 7 o clock). The two closer steps are very comfortable for longer sits, and thr 12 o clock is for shooting around the tree.

Do you guys run the steps the exact same height as the platform, or should I raise the steps a few inches higher?

My trees are small but I may have to add 2 to my seeker just for an extra place to put my feet

I like my steps a little bit higher but if the steps are on the same strap it doesn't work out that way with different platforms.

I’m going to run the pursuit with the bullman platform steps this year in a similar fashion.

It's pouring outside right now or I'd snap a picture of how I used a couple pieces of cord to attach to the strap/platform to keep everything as ONE UNIT.
It makes it way easier to get it all on the tree when you're 20 + feet in the air hanging from 2TC stuff!

I just added two steps to my platform, I liked the simplicity and comfort in a ROS but I didn’t like transitioning to my rappel setup on them. I’m hoping the seeker with two steps is the answer

I have a ROS attached to all of my platforms and one-sticks...

I run a ridge runner with two steps also, but I'm using the original cam strap it came with. I see you're using an OCB with your and it looks like you're just strapping it right across the front of the RR. Does this slide any that way? Or is there something going on in the pic I'm not seeing? I guess if it did slide down the regular attachment nubs would stop it.

I'm def interested in seeing how you're setting that up when hanging too. I have an ocb, so now I'm going to be experimenting. I was thinking of going with a versa strap type set up and using a truckers hitch, but I might give this a shot to see how it does.

Just run you 2 or 3 of these slotted squirrel steps on the same strap as your platform. It’s easy and can be done while setting your platform. You get the comfort of the platform with the ease of maneuvering that a ROS gives…

I still have the regular strap but when I add steps an OCB works great.
I wanna get a slot milled into the base to run the strap through (just like on the Pre-set Solo Scout) but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
But yea, the nubs for the strap and the teeth against the tree keep it from budging at all.

The Ridge Runner is an awesome platform!

I use a OOAL scout on my 18'' stick and 3 steps on a ROS...mostly i like having the steps at 3 and 9 o clock as mentioned. I can swing over a bit with that scout, but the extra step there really helps.

Hey @Dmathews87 , zoom in on my picture above and check out how I have 4 Ameristeps nestled in my Scout.
It works out pretty good. I climb with them in there and when I set my stick at hunting height they are ready to put around the tree...
