Arby’s Venison Burger

Most people know that the taste of wild game has a lot to do with how it's prepared. That being said, I'd have nothing to do with a fast food chain restaurant selling any wild game meat. o_O

I haven’t had fast food in years, this would be my exception if I try it. I support the direction of using healthier alternatives to the massively-over-engineered-for-efficiency cow, and it’s equally over-processed fast food burger form.
I’ll keep eating cow burgers, but I’d rather eat a deer, elk, goose, turkey, boar, ostrich, giraffe, owl, neighbor’s pet burger any day.

There's nothing "healthy" about fast food joint wild game offerings. Just a different name for GMO, over-processed grub that is designed to weaken your immune system so a doctor can prescribe medication, which will then cause side effects leading to more prescriptions. See a pattern?

I mean that’s why I said health-ier. Like weed is healthier than meth. Fast food venison is still fast food.
However, of all the conspiracies I subscribe to, I don’t track any conspiracy theories associating fast food to big pharma. I guess if you told me the government was supporting fast food to create more sick people to increase reliance on big brother I could probably get behind it.

Slow day when Arby's sandwich is the number one conversation for the day!
I saw it earlier and didn't get around to open it. I thought it was a recipe for a knock off Arby's sandwich made from venison. After I opened it up and noted it wasn't in the cooking section I was a little disappointed.
I would try it, if for some reason I found my self at Arby's while it is in season. But I got hunting stuff to buy. McDonald's is cheaper.

They did a venison sandwich several years ago as well. Found one in MN. It was OK. I'm glad I ate it but it didn't blow me away. I know it's farm-raised venison and not wild meat, but, really, anything that makes non-hunters think about wild food is probably a benefit to us.

I think in the grand scheme of things it's probably better for us for the general public to make the connection between hunting and food. I still hear non-hunters talking about "trophy hunters" as though most hunters only hunt for antlers and nothing else. I was under the weather over the weekend and watched some hunting shows for the first time in years. Those do way more damage to our public image than an Arbys burger. "Hunters" acting like idiots on TV is not a good look.

A simple 100% venison cheeseburger. I’ve been experimenting with seasoning because I have a bunch of burger meat left to eat. I doctored it up with a little Tony’s, Worcestershire, and an egg and grilled it on high heat. It turned out better than the Arby’s burger. Big ole juicy thick patty. 83505ADB-DCB2-40CC-A8B4-06E3AE3FC286.jpeg

Looks awesome. Haven’t done 100% venison yet, I usually cut about 20% pork in. That looks juicy as hell though.

I’ve tried egg or butter mixed in with the patties and it makes a big difference. I’m convinced that egg and butter give it that little bit of fat content it needs without drowning out the natural venison flavor.

Rinella was on a kick about using the caul fat, from around the kidneys. Wrap venison burger patties in venison caul fat, then grill them. I kinda want to try it. Your spice mix sounds great. By Tony's do you mean Tony Chachere's?
