Arctic shield boot covers

I usually go into the mid teens with my arctic shields (depending on the wind), before busting out the heater body suit!
I use the artic shield boot covers inside of my heater body suit. I think they work better than the boot covers included with the HBS.

I have never tried these over rubber boots. I have only used then with my 1000 gram thinsulate lacrosse leather boots. They work good with those boots.

They are ok, you need to put them on as soon as you get set up for them to work correctly. They need to retain the built up heat. If you wear over a size 10 I'd get the xxl size.

I bought a pair of volt 3v heated sock liners, they are in the top 5 best things I have ever bought for hunting. Kept my feet warm for 9 hours the other day.

Could you provide a link the sock liners?

Ouch! I guess they are salty! Thats the same price as the Wiggy's Mukluks at their current sale price.

The deal is though, my feet aren't staying warm for 5 hours without them. I've tried it all. It was kind of my last resort, and these ones were one of the best few reviewed. Well worth it for me. I got a NOS pair on ebay for 70 bucks.

The batteries are rechargeable and have a remote fob. You can also get two higher mah batteries for longer run time.

They also have heated insoles. I think they are around from $50 for the cheap ones to $150. A friend swears by the Thermacell ones. He only wears uninsulated boots now and just uses wool socks with the heated insoles.

I tried out the Artic Shield boot covers this morning with the Silent Approach Ring of Steps. Other than the bit of an acrobats routine to get them on and off, they worked quite well. I felt very stable on the steps, pretty much the same as in my normal boots (size 10). They didn’t make any noticeable noise on the steps or on the bark of the tree, a shag-bark hickory.

I’ve used them for years, if I dont need rubber boots where I’m hunting, I will wear uninsulated leather boots. Once I get to my tree, I change socks, climb, putblankets on. If really cold I will pu a couple of hand warmers in each boot around toes.
Disclaimer, all said Hunts are from loc ons and climbers

Little tip to help get them on in the tree. Take a plastic grocery bag and cover yiur boot then slide on the Artics. If boot bottoms are damp they act like a gripper to the liner. Plastic just slips them on.

Wool liners (Gamechanger) no blanket no warmer and I can wear any boot

I had some cabelas hip boots once that had those wool booties in. Warmest thing ever. My feet stayed WARM in single digit temps

For those of you who has used the covers, is your footing as secure with them as without them and I'm concerned about the noise. I have a set of the Icebreaker and they are great but haven't tried them in my saddle.

Also this year I've gone to an uninsulated leather boot and just a heavy set of merino wool socks. My feet have been more comfortable this year than ever and I've tried several insulation rubber and leather boots throughout the years.
