Let’s see what preference is when it comes to rests?

What do you like and why?

I’m about to build a new bow, and they are trying to push for the “whisker biscuit”…..

I’ve always been a drop a way kind of guy, so curious your opinion

if you want the sturdiest drop away rest, then hamskea trinity hunter pro with the dampener system

The Primer from Hamskea is a bit lower cost alternative. Very robust as well.

I’ll add I’m not normally sold on one brand. Shot many different bows, sights, arrows. A hamskea rest will always be on my bow.

Limb driven rest will in theory support the arrow longer after the shot and since it’s limb driven will be faster to move out of the way of the arrow. Is why limb driven is better, according to how it’s been explained to me.

Also anytime you can get micro adjust, do it. It’s maybe more accurate but to me it’s way simpler to adjust, for sights as well. For the little increase in price it’s way worth it.

Yes, I know whisker biscuits can cause issues when the vanes pass through but they are just a static piece with nothing mechanical that can fail.

I’m really like the integrated qad that come on Mathews and Hoyt maybe some others too. I can’t speak about others because I have only shot qad for the last 10-12 years.

I have had the best luck with hamskea rest. Moved away from the biscuit and the QAD. I’ve noticed the QAD will get out of time easily. Allot of vane contact if set up wrong on the QAD

I started with a drop away that came with my bow, but switched to a biscuit. I love the way it holds my arrow, but never liked the pass through after using a drop away. I then started fletching my own with a pretty good hard twist(ez fletch mini). I loved the fletchings and while they were accurate, I hated the way they passed thru the biscuit. Then I got the NAP Apache fall away and won’t look back. When I buy another rest, it’ll be one that locks in the up position, but it will surely fall away!

I have both, on my old Hoyt Tenacity I have a biscuit, can’t complain she shoots BH and FP same spot out to 40 (haven’t tried other distances)


on my quest I have a QAD, I like it, but that bow doesn’t seem to group as well as my Hoyt, I might swap the rests and see what happens (black arrows)

I’ve always shot WB. Holds the arrow well and works for the distances I shoot. Seems more bomb proof or so I hope haha.

I also like the Vaportrail line of limb driven rests.

I was always a WB man until I had a bow that refused to tune with one. I picked up an HHA Virtus and never looked back. I generally held mechanical rests in the same distain as that white stuff that forms at the corner of your mouth when you’re really thirsty but this rest is amazing.

Hmmmmmm, just checked this out. You may have just piqued my interest in trying one of these. These really look robust, well designed and "micro tunable" I don't particularly care for the full capture that comes standard on my Hickory Creek Mini and this may be an option. Thanks for posting this!!

Any idea on how they perform in freezing rain, sleet, snow, slush?

Can't find much for reviews.

An arrow speed comparison to WB and popular Drop Aways would be nice too.
