Arsenal Platform

I see one of the Magnums in my future.. Looks like I need to pickup abit of OT over the next few months

I watched the video and read in the comments they’re going to have sticks too. I wonder what those will be like.

I’m upset by this.

Only because this platform looks amazing and I just purchased a LWCG Fix 2 months ago. I would have purchased one of these instead. Love the attachment method. Everything looks amazing, minus the noisy traction. Really curious to see some reviews on these. Might have to list my Fix in the classifieds…

There's still some upside to the Fix, imo.

12" Deep (vs 10.75" / 11.25")
Completely Matte finish (vs satin anodized)
More rigid
Better traction design
Leveling (vs leveling?)
Toothy bracket
Stick mating ports
Established company

For the Arsenal:

Rope cleat
Fold flat bracket (transport)
Fewer ounces
7075 aluminum

It'll be interesting to see if they have an integrated stick mounting system

This has some different features from most other platforms that are interesting - folds flat and the attachment method. Would like to hear other feedback on how well it bites the tree with those two teeth.

Also had a good chuckle at the arbitrary scoring system used in the video. “We gave it a 9.8” or “We gave it a 9.2”. And I’m sitting here in my red lounge smoking jacket, screaming obscenities and throwing things at my computer monitor in protest - “You only gave it a 9.2?!?!? - that’s ridiculous! I demand you adjust that score, or I’m filing an official protest with the international saddle platform scoring committee to have it panel scored!” LOL.

He seems like a nice fella, but a little unsure of what makes for good content so he's borrowing popular Youtubeisms, to the detriment of his videos, and not really even incorporating those very well.

He starts his Latitude stick review by saying "today is a great day so lets crack open a beer". He never tells the viewers why it's a great day, like...finally got ahold of some Latitude Sticks...or...just had a good poop, etc.

What's worse is he pours a bottled Guiness into a glass. Bottled Guiness should be consumed directly from the bottle. Canned Guiness should be shotgun poured into a glass.

Thought you were going to say guiness should be poured out.

I was told it does but I didn’t see it either.
It does, same as predator and other style platforms.
Also the top post cam with just the 2 teeth have great biting ability on the tree.
I really like how flat it folds. That in itself temps me but I need another platform like a hole in my head (2 predators, 2 EDPs and a OOAL Scout). I personally don;t see too much issue with only two teeth on the upper standoff. I think it will only really matter on pretty severely leaning trees where it only engages one side. On most trees the upper standoff only engages two teeth anyway.

Perhaps my biggest concern is the lack of additional reinforcment on the Rzr at the rear platform "triangles" where the teeth are. It reminds me of the Gen1 Predators. They were fine loaded normally against the tree but their weakness was the bending stress from the camming action, especially if they were toe hooked so that a lot of downward force was applied to the ends of those legs. This seems to have a similar cross-section. Maybe the machined 7075 is that much stronger or the cross section is greater (its hard to tell from just the photos) but I think it remains to be seen.
I'll get you a measurement on the cross section for that point this evening....though it really is very strong and I haven't seen it flex with my weight.

It would help if he spent more time showing it on different trees rather than just him talking.

How's the molle hook? Are the snaps for the Pivot up top loud? Maybe I will go Friday and buy one. I don't need the gear in my cart I'm thinking about buying anyway lol

It’s unclear to me whether the supports make it flat on top or angled down. I see that they neck down but I can’t tell which direction. I haven’t looked at it super closely. Anyone know?

The integrated molle hook is pretty sweet and easy to use, I don't carry a platform that way, but ppl who have been using a 3d clip will like it. The snaps are silent because they are rubberized so not metal to metal contact. Same like the traction studs, can easily be swapped when they wear out or break.
