Arsenal Platform

Shine is off the apple for me, just really disappointed in the level of customer experience I’ve had in my purchases. I’m not going to cancel my order, at this point it ships when it ships. I’m primarily not cancelling so I can weight it myself and compare it on a tree to what I have, I’ll share the results on the board here when/if I get it even though I’m aware most folks aren’t interested in compared anything to Tethred.

I’m the weird optimist that hopes I get one that comes in at advertised weight and is rock solid on the tree and easy to attach. I feel like they’re trying to do something innovative, I like that. My experience with them as a business isn’t good, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been great for other people. Ideally I’d like companies to be great at both but product quality as advertised is probably most important for me.

This is what I've kind of been wondering myself. Is there variance in these scales to cause the difference? If there is a variance is it enough to cause that big of a difference? Does Arsenal say there is a fudge factor on the weight at all? What would they say if you got one that weighed more than advertised and contacted them? Would they stand behind their product and offer a replacement at a verified weight that meets advertised?

I was a frogs hair away from ordering one today, but holding off till I see more reviews and first hand experience. The weight isn't a huge factor for me, because even at 6 ounces above advertised weight, it's still 3 pounds lighter than my old XOP Edge I had.

I may keep my eyes open on the classifieds for a used Gen 1 at a decent price. @Plebe what size shoes do you wear that you were able to comfortably turn around on the platform?

CS was responsive to my cancellation request. Apparently the platforms are shipping tomorrow or Wed at the latest. Had to confirm my desire to cancel, which I did.

I wear size 13 running shoes. My Mucks are probably a size up, but they’re old so maybe not. I‘d have to check that.

I don’t know that I’d describe the turn as comfortable, maybe call it manageable for me. I probably did it 50times on each platform today, no bow in hand but acting the part. It was a shuffle either way, I can’t just turn around. I’m using my non-bow hand on the tether for support/balance. (don’t grab your hitch by accident).

Turning on a RRXL or LWCG Ambush is easier for me for sure.

Arsenal processed the cancellation expeditiously. (so I‘ll be getting my money back the same day they say they would have actually shipped the merchandise, lol.) That’s solid Customer Service though for them to process the refund at 10:23PM.

No hard feelings here, just they didn’t come far enough for me to move forward at this time.

What am I not following here? The claimed weight on the 2.0 is 2lb 8oz and the one video shows the guy weighing it at just under 2lb 9oz.
My Edge is a claimed weight of 5lb 6oz (never actually weighed it but it is hefty but absolutely rock solid). I guess if this 2.0 is under 3, I'm okay with it. Didn't want to wait for TL's Hyperlite as there is no guaranty that they will have the magnite supply and it doesn't fold nearly as flat.

That's too bad. I was really hoping you'd just send it to me to check it out b4 you returned it....

I’d have liked to. But it being so much heavier made shipping just unreasonable, lol.

I really did want to try it. I’m pretty satisfied with my hybrid-stand setup for a lot of scenarios, but am still refining my preferences for a UL scout/still-hunt/track in but set up on something hot system. Thought this was the one. Maybe it is. Idk.

Perhaps had I attended a show, I’d know better. I think they missed the boat on showing off their goods, then maybe the products missed their boat to the USA, and confusion and delay resulted, lol.

I’ve watched the HuntArsenal YouTube video on setting the 2.0 platform (the only one they have on the 2.0 series) like a million times and the 2.0 platform seems to spring up after setting like the 1.0 often does. Saw one video where it looked locked down at a show, but 1-1, that’s a draw.

I'm waiting on him to decide he wants the fix instead of the magnum and then sell the magnum to me for a deep discount since it's last years model and heavily used! (50 turns today alone!) LOL

Lol, It’ll probably hit the resale market. I’m not throwing it away though.

I think I’ll run it against the X-Wing again. The X-wing was a better platform for me in my trials when paired with a JX3, but the Mag1.0 packed better due to the folding standoff (and nicer finish).

I never did try them head to head with a standard saddle and want to see where they fall out in that testing.

@Gator thanks for taking the time to send the info and pics, especially when it infringed on your leisure and recreation time. Hope the rain let up and you got to catch some fish.

Well when the time comes let me know and if I'm still in the market we'll talk. No tire kicking lol

Their CS has always been great for me. Just the weight discrepancy, that weight savings was enough to forgive some design sins for me, but when you cut that savings in half I’m not so sure.

I have no experience with this company, but you would think after seeing this crap going on again and again with weights being off, release dates and shipping dates being pushed ahead or cancelled entirely etc., generally ticking people off. That these companies coming out with new stuff would learn a lesson on how to do business and get there sh*t together before making their big "Launch"

For what it's worth - my shipping notification is from UPS

According to Arsenal, the issue with FedEx was delivery to them:

From 3/11:
“FedEx has held our incoming packages unexpectedly for the last week and they were finally released to be delivered to us tomorrow.”

We know some folks received platforms. I do wonder where those came from. Did Arsenal receive a partial shipment and fill the orders they could or did they come from an entirely different stock?
