Assassin platform!

Understand. But is the so called "new" innovation justifiable concerning cost difference?? Only time will tell. If it is I'll gladly spend the $. I don't concern myself with what's cool or trendy. I like to keep it simple due to being a simple kind of guy. (Small brain syndrome) Let the innovators invent and learn from what they learn after it's been tried and found true.

I am currently using WE steps for climbing method and platform. I feel like I should try a larger platform like the assassin or predator.... Not sure if I'm missing out or will like it better. I am not going to use sticks and will stick with the steps as I really like them.

I think the more competition in the saddle industry the better the equipment will become. I'm a firm believer that competition leads to better innovation. Competition will also lead to lower costs. The used assassin market will plummet if they bring it back as well.

So who thinks there will be a bunch of these platforms on the used market in a couple years? They'll get some new guys to buy them and think that saddle hunting sucks because you can't sit down or swing around the tree for shot opportunities. Or maybe the belt will be amazing, I've been wrong before :)

It looks like there is a seatbelt strap that cups your butt. You might be able to possibly sit but I'm sure it would be very uncomfortable.

It would not surprise me if people would try to possibly modify that harness into a sit drag so you could sit at times.

I also don't believe the TMA would endorse that style of "saddle" or harness. I would think a tree stand manufacturer would need that endorsement to sell it for liability reasons. I also I have been wrong before.

Guess there's no sitting in that saddle lol

I actually hunted like this quite a bit every year (ab level hook up). I found it comfortable and extremely easy to get into shooting positions and the tether just is not an issue of getting in the way. If I am going to hunt for 3 hours or less - I prefer a low chest hook up - and many times on longer sits, as I approach "prime time" I will move my tether down to ab level.

Been there done that - however, folks should try the chest high and even lower tether for primetime - lots of advantages - I may do a video on how I do it at some point.
After seeing some videos/pics of @John Eberhart and his ambush sling, I started experimenting with a lower hookup and a "higher" seated position. I don't really consider it a lean, because my knees are still on the tree and my weight is in my saddle instead of on my steps.

I found that it slightly reduced tree mobility, but eliminated the strain on my lower back completely. It also made it easier to maneuver my long ATA Synergy over the tether. Net win for me. I've done three all-day sits that way and barely adjusted the tether. Quite comfortable.

Depends on how you hunt - from a ROS probably not effective (unless you do it like I do but most wont want to) but from a platform a lower tether can increase shot opportunities.

Agreed Dave. There's 2 types of us on here and guys who try to use a platform like they use ROS are not going to see the benefits we do.

I am thinking about releasing a video on how I currently hunt from a platform. I use a little of John E technique but adapted it to a system for platform hunting that makes 360 shooting as easy as it gets.
