Assistance needed | Red dot scope for turkeys

All,

I'm having a difficult time choosing a red dot scope for my Benelli Super Vinci. I have it narrowed down between the Vortex series (leaning towards the Viper due to the battery access) and the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. Do any of you have reviews/feedback?

Not a red dot per se, but I have a Vortex Crossfire II with illuminated reticle on my AR, and I love it. Lots of brightness adjustability, user friendly, and a fantastic warranty at a very reasonable price point. I think you’ll be plenty happy with either choice though.

Is this a turkey gun? Burris Fastfire 3 or Vortex Venom would be my choice. Both are nice and light and low profile

Just a note about the venom, I had to buy a wedge to put between the optic and the base. For some reason the venom doesn’t have enough elevation adjustment. With the elevation maxed out I was still about a ft low when I was trying to zero my shotgun.

I’ve got a couple swampfox optics on our turkey guns. I really like their green dot versions.

I had to put in a shim when I added a leupold scope on a Remington 760 pump .308 I used a square plastic bread tie trimmed to fit. never had to adjust the aim point again in 40 years. the rifle is 58yrs same as me.

I have a Sightmark Mini Shot M-Spec red dot on my Remington Versa Max, that I use for everything from geese, turkey and sporting clays. I've been very impressed with how fast I can acquire a target with this sight. I wouldn't dream of hunting without it.

Give a heavy look at the Holosun options as well. If you are anti overseas then go with Leupold. If not the vortex warranty is hard to beat.

Vortex venom is what i use on my vinchi! I love it. I also have one on my stevens .410 too. I haven’t had any problems with either of them and I’ve had them for a few years now. I change the battery every year in them even though it’s probably not needed.

I have the Bushnell TRS25 on a 410. For $50 it’s been perfect.

This is what I have on my turkey gun, for the price it can’t be beat. I can’t remember where but it has been approved for duty use by some PDs.

Also, for a reflex style the AT3 ARO on amazon is great for the money.

Parallax effect on reflex (red dot) sights is something to consider.

EOTECH HWS outperform reflex sights in this area.

The Aimpoint T-2 and Burris Fastfire are top performers in the red dot category.

I have an EOTECH but for the money, the Fastfire warrants a look imo.

Aimpoint on my Benelli SBE2. It has never lost zero, same battery going on 5 years now. And its a 2 moa dot so it's extremely crisp. Those are super low rings so I still get a firm cheek weld. Impossible to see how it's gets better than that other than the much more expensive but smaller aimpoint models.

I cant remember what model it is but dad has an aimpoint tube from the mid 2000's. My first red dot gobbler kill was with that optic on a mossberg 500 20 gauge and b square universal cantilever mount. Clunky as all get out. Almost laughable.

Another Vortex Venom user. Only downfall is there can be some reflection off of it if you get stuck setting up in sunlight. Cost me a bird once but otherwise, zero complaints.

No doubt Aimpoint makes quality scopes, particularly the T2. At that price the Leica Tempus is worth a look.

For something basically indestructible, check out Shield.
