Finally started working on my backpack build. Will be made of 1000D cordura and fleece. So far so good but lots of time left to screw it up haha. Will try and update as I go along.

What type of fleece are you using?

Took me multiple years of searching online to find the asat fleece. Finally found someone on the hunting beast who had a stash of it somehow.

Got the bottom section put together. You can see where i screwed up on the side pockets and had to add in an extra piece to fill the gap.

Here she is in all her glory. Can't wait to take it out and run it through its paces. Last pic shows bag loaded with pillow to simulate camera gear and extra clothes, then 3 helium sticks on the side platform on the front, and camera arm on top.

Dang!!! It looks really nice. I’ve been wanting to do a pack build but waiting until I find a frame.

Not a chance! I now know exactly why these bags cost what they do, this was like a 12-15 hour job.

:). Certainly doesn't look like the easiest of projects. I've found a couple used ones but I just can't pony up that much for a pack. I might have to upgrade my sewing machine to one that can take the big needle for gear projects. Your pack looks like it turned out great! Even if I get a scout I want to mod it with a molle panel above the lumbar pack up the harness. Also be great if top lid expanded out to a large dry sack pack that would secure to upper harness kind of like my cheap alps mountaineering pack. Scout that could turn into a Zulu kind of thing.

Well done. My ultimate goal for my DIY set up is to have a pack I made to carry it all with. Feeling inspired now!
