Hi guys,

I am thinking that I will want to carry my steps in their carrying bag, but stuffed into a backpack. Are you guys that use steps doing the same? If so, what are you using? It would be nice to have a pack that I can stuff the Steps into one compartment, then my other stuff in another. I figure clothes may get stuffed in there as well or just strapped to the outside.

Thx

Pete

I'm considering using a pack next season as well. Last season I kept everything in pouches on my sit drag and walked in wearing it.

DaveT uses the kathy kelly fleece pack. Check out his videos on it. Pretty cool stuff.

G2 uses the hornhunter mainbeam. Same as above

Boudreaux uses the outpaq. Same as above lol.

Fuse and a few others are using the molle frames as a pack. That may be my go to next year if I can't decide on any of the above options haha.

Hopefully the other guys chime in with some more helpful information brother.

I use a Powerhorn XL from Field & Stream. I put my steps and Kestrel in it . My WildEdge steps are inside the bag it came with and fit great inside my pack.

I use a field line day pack that’s several years old. I put the stepps in my pack and the kestrel strapped to the outside. If I am close to where I’m hunting I will just carry them by the strap. Sometimes I will hit a new area and just scout until I find an awesome spot or until a couple hours before dark then set up at the nearest best sign. On those trips everything goes inside the pack. It’s not the fastest or lightest system. It’s not the most compact compared to tree bolts. I think it is the best compromise.

I’ll be using my kifaru Tarryall pack which is a 3200c, probably a bit big for what I need, but love his pack. Ranger Green will blend in nice.
