I finally just got some helium 20's, and I'm eyeing up the backwoods mobile movable aider. Has anyone got one? Pros/cons? 2 step or 3 step?

I have a moveable 2 step aider. It’s pretty sweet.

I also have one if their versa aiders. It is also very nice. Mike does some quality work.

Has the 2 step been enough? I watched mark dohring's video and the 3 step almost seemed like too much

2 - 20” steps is enough for me.

you figure 22” from the ground to first step then 2 -20” steps that’s 62” to the bottom step on your climbing stick 82” to top step. 2 sticks can get you 15’ to platform.

3 step aider would be to much imo. I cannot reach that high to the button and I am 6-4

I'll preface this with saying I'm short. 5'4" and I have three aiders by backwoods. All three are 3 step aiders and each step is 13". I did that because if I use all three sticks I can get 18' to my platform. 5 1/2' between stick placements is what I do and I'm able to get to a decent height.

However, I use the one stick. I actually have 4 sticks with three step aiders. 1 muddy pro, 1 EWO ultralite stick, 1 shikar 17" and one 1 mini shikar with a scout platform on top and double step on bottom. each one has a three step aider...and either one of those sticks I can one stick up the tree. I think the 13" step is perfect as it gives me about 38" to the bottom of the aider to the bottom of the step then what ever step combination I have I can advance up the tree.

I made my own 3 step aider just like the Backwoods Mobile 3 step aider. Don't have a picture of it, but I didn't care for it. My steps were not spread good enough and got pinched together pretty bad when I tried to step on them. Instead I essentially made a Versa Aider or something similar that I tested out today and I love it! I can get to about 70 - 80 inches from the ground using this. I have one attached to each foot and a bungee cord is attached to the hook, then to the Lineman's loops on my saddle. So when I step above the spot that it is attached it automatically comes off the step and I don't have to move it myself.

I use Mike's dual aiders. He just recently added them to his website.
