Beast sticks vs all others?

I wish the stand-off was farther out. I wear a 11.5 and feel it’s not far enough away from the tree because they dig in so much. The helium’s seem to have more room for sure.

Have some spacers made at a local machine shop and use longer bolts. The Muddy Aerolites came with them. Easy fix I bet @DanO could hook those up.

I’m sure he could, but for the $$$ 300 plus that I spent it would have been nice if that’s how they came.

I understand but it is impossible to make everyone happy with one climbing stick. Some want it shorter, lighter, farther from the tree, brown, black, folding steps, cam cleats, buttons, straps, ropes. That’s why so many DIY. You see a lot of DIY there all similar but there all different

I just ordered some double steps from @DanO. I'm cutting my Lone Wolfs to 24" and putting on double stepps.
How did you make out cutting your LW down and putting on double steps? Trying to figure out the cost to do that vs selling LW sticks and buying beast when they come out again. Thanks

Do you miss the 10" that you lost with the LW?

That's the only reason I havnt gotten any beast sticks. I used the muddy sticks for awhile but didn't like the short sticks. Had Hawk Ranger sticks, but they were too heavy (4lbs each). Tried all kinds of strap on steps, but too cumbersome. Now that guys are fabricating mods for sticks, I think that this is the best route. I plan on getting some double steps from somewhere and modding my LWs.

10’? Not even close. With a set of four lw and beast sticks I lost a couple feet, maybe. The double step, the light weight and the packability set the beasts apart from the lw. The shorter and lighter stick makes packing waaaaaay better. It’s not even close for me. Beast sticks are worth every penny. You guys might think they’re expensive, but when considering the purchase know that you’ll not have to buy different sticks for a long while, if ever. Also beast gear CS is second to none. You’ll be taken care of well after you buy the product

I have owned a bunch:

Helium were mediocre stock. You have to modify them and make them into the sticks you want.

Original lone wolf I used for many years. Kinda the baseline in climbing sticks.

XOP were heavy, the 1/4 turn thing was a good idea but a fail in execution. The roll pin would break if you looked at it for to long. Then there is the whole thing with them breaking and the way they handled the “fix”

Xstand Mantis sticks were okay. Steps were super close together and teeth were hell on your hands. They packed like crap.

Muddy pro heavy for their size and were sloppy. Atleast mine were lots of wiggle in the steps.

Lone wolf custom gear... never used them in the field nor will I they are packed up waiting an RMA.

Beast sticks - best sticks on the market by far. A little challenging to figure out how to pack but that is the only negative I can think of.

I've used
1st gorilla folding step sticks- super heavy and bulky
lone wolf- pretty darn good sticks, which most others are measured against
Xop- over hyped boat anchors imo with a cheap locking design
Beast sticks- totally ina league of there own. Dan nailed it with the weight, packablilty and bite. I put versa lites on them and showed a few guys, had a lot of offers for way more $ then I have in them.

Had full length LW and heliums. Aggravating as heck going thru brush but easy to hang with Stick talons. Cut LW's and added Doublesteps. Eventually sold them. Cut heliums and added amsteel. Built my own DIY sticks with DanO's parts and Carl's versa straps. They'really awesome. But if I had to do it again...beast sticks all the way.
