Best Method Carry Sticks Up

Only second season in saddle and still a struggling a bit for best, least cumbersome method to carry sticks up as I climb? Ordered the 3D printer versa button holders that hook in the mollies but don't know if there is enough room for all of them. Messed around with a second pull up cord with a small loop tied off every 3' or so that I hooked the versa button in and then just pulled them up the tree as I climbed. Sorta kinda works. Thought????

hmmm, interesting. I'd just be afraid of knocking them down and having to go back down to retrieve them. Yikes

If you’re using 3 30 inch sticks hang first stick and hook the end of the strap for the other sticks on the top step. climb to second step and pull a stick up from the ground by the strap. Make sure you move your remaining stick strap to the second stick before you continue climbing

Hang first stick.

Prepare second stick by hanging / dangling the stick from the top step of the first stick, using whatever attachment method you use for the second stick (cam buckle, versa strap, daisy chain).

Put one stick on each side of your body, using paracord loops on your saddle.

Climb up onto first stick.

Hang second stick.

Climb up and hang third and fourth sticks.

Probably a video out there that explains it better than I just did!

Exactly how I do it. Also have my platform strap looped over my shoulder so it hangs behind my back but high enough it’s not clanking against my sticks. Climb up and hunt.

Sounds like we’ve got the same approach for carrying and attaching the climbing sticks.

I need to improve how I carry the platform up the tree. I have been hanging it off the back of my saddle using a carabiner on the back of my saddle (waist belt molle loop) but that causes two issues:
1. The platform occasionally clanks against the sticks
2. With the added weight, it always feels like someone is pulling my saddle and pants off! Not terrible with a small platform like the predator, but really a PITA with the mission!

Will have to use a different approach next year.

I got these from Eastern Outdoors. I have two attached to the back of my saddle. I've got a piece of paracord tied to top step on each stick and I loop it over the J-hook. Set my first stick and rest my second stick on top of the first. Carry the third and fourth sticks on the hooks.

Sorry this is long. This is my way of doing things... I use 4 sticks. First two sticks I set fast with no lineman’s belt or tether. Standing on my first stick with an aider setting the second stick, most I could fall is 6ft. After that I get down and take my time. I have paracord loops tied on the last two sticks and S biners on each hip of my saddle, sticks at each hip. At this point I’m not going back down again. Platform is clipped on my back pack and I’m wearing it. Once I get to the second stick setting the third, I’m tethered and using a lineman’s belt. After the second stick is hospital height IMO. This has been the safest and fastest way I’ve found. I have a gear tie on my platform and that hangs off my lineman’s belt when I’m hanging it, makes a huge difference.

exact same thing I do..

J hook from EWO is the way to go. Set your 1st stick from the ground hook my 3rd and 4th stick in the j hooks that are on the side of saddle. Lay my 2nd stick on the ground with the daisy chain hooked to me. Get up on the 1st stick and pull the 2nd stick up from the ground and carry on.
IMO anyone going up and down a tree at all is doing way more work then they should be doing.

I used a strap that I would carry across my back hang the first stick climb it, “swing” the sticks in front of me above my linesmen remove one stick “swing” them back on to my back. All the way up the tree. That was when I used a pull rope for my weapon.
Now I hang my first stick and hang the other two in my bridge one in each side. My platform or ROS is on my saddle middle back
I prefer the one trip up, all up method.

Retiring my stand and stix this year. I hunted with an RC harness for past 5years(hated conventional safety harnesses).

I made 2 elastic loops(out of bungee) and attached them to the hip section of the RC harness. i hung one stick on each hip.
Climbing: I attached first Muddy stick w/ 4 step aider at about 7ft. i hung the second stick off the first stick. I climbed up first stick and attach lineman belt. Reached down and grabbed second stick. Then deployed the other 2 sticks as I went up.

Kydex J-hook for me too. Very simple to use and never had an issue with the sticks falling.

I have not doe it yet. I only use three sticks. One on top of the first, the third hanging from my bridge loop on my left side. 7' is not that far to get back to the ground, especially since I don't clip my linemans belt until I'm on my first stick at 7 to 8 feet

I have a 2 step aider on my first stick. I set that stick then rest my next stick horizontally on top of that stick. I have 2 tx5 versa holders on each side I have my other 2 sticks on. Climb up once I get onto the bottom step of my first stick off the aider I grab my second stick off the top of the first stick and set that one. Climb up that stick on the bottom step of that one set the next stick. Repeat for the 4th and final stick.

Hang first stick. Set rest of sticks horizontal across the top stand-off of the stick. Climb up. Grab next stick and hang it. Take rest of sticks and set on top stand-off of stick you just hung. Repeat.

I mostly do a combination of setting sticks on stick set and hanging a couple off my saddle. But when I need to be super stealth I just climb up and down a couple times.
