best rangefinder?

my newbie eyeballs can't quite judge the difference between distances as it gets further away. 20-30 yards away is no big deal but 70 vs 90? gets harder to judge. i likely won't shoot past 30ish, so mainly use my rangefinder to figure out just how far out of range all the deer I see are.
Curious. I’ll preface with I’m a trad guy. But if 20-30 is no big deal and you aren’t gonna go farther than that. Why do you need it? They are too far or in range right? Just trying to save you money. Dependency on gear kinda makes me wonder sometimes. Im not against range finders and if your intentions are to actually push your limits of range then you should probably have one. If you are gonna stick to the 20-30 no problem the I’d save the money and spend on something more worth while.

Estimating is a valuable skill. IMO, you would not use a range finder to throw a baseball to your kid. The mind is an amazing instrument.

I've had a Halo range finder that's worked fine for the past six years. I think it was around$100. In the future I'd buy a Vortex.

I have a Bushnell arc1000 that I've had for years and year. They came in a combo pack with binoculars and only cost $250. It has been a great rangefinder with lots of features, I love them and no need for anything different. Unfortunately the Binos let me down years ago.

True, the rangefinder I got was the link above, but it was actually 0 cost to me because it was a gift, so that factors into my use of course. I've found it a helpful tool to train my eye as well, because matching pins to yardage isn't as intuitive as throwing... (And I ran track and crosscountry for a reason lol)

Nice. Well anyway I hope you get a trophy. Sorry I don’t have more to add.

Wouldn't a red dot be an electronic device though.
I am not sure of why Leupold's policy on Rangefinders is different than red dots. Maybe someone who works at Leupold can enlighten us. My experiences is that Leupold's will not cover the devices after 2 years. Note: I like Leupold's other products, but their warranty and quality on Rangerfinder is lacking. Only trying to inform hunter so they can make a quality decision on the equipment they buy.

I thought they had a lifetime warranty on all of their products. Guess not. I do like my rangefinder though.
