Best ring of steps??

I want something that will be solid on any bark tree and the Saddle Scaffold is the only one that can do it.

I'm curious about this comment. What strap did you have when you used the Tree hopper steps? I have been using tree hopper steps with an OCB for two and a half seasons and have probably 60-70 hunts on them and I can count on one hand how many times they weren't rock solid at first. All of those times were because I didn't snap the OCB tight enough and I was able to quickly reset them to be rock solid. That's been on oaks, cherry trees, maples, ash, pines as well as others.

I used the camo strap and the olive colored strap from Eastern Woods Outdoors with their OCB. I actually broke a Treehopper step and cut my leg and wrote about it in a post a year ago. Mark was kind enough to return my money and let me keep the steps. Told me I should use his OCB and strap and didn’t recommend anything else except a ratchet strap. I broke the thin side of the wing off when applying side pressure and my shin slid down the step. I cut both wings off on the steps I still have but nothing has been more sturdy as the Cranford. In my opinion you can’t get a step with a flat back solid on a round surface.
