Big Buck Pics

Frequent visitor here 2 years ago; these are about 70 yards from the house. Saw him twice hunting, but just too far out for the longbow. Neighbor took him with a muzzleloader.

Ugh i wish i had bucks like this on camera. Screw you guys!

I saw my only nice buck, still only a 3 yr old 8, on camera this year being dragged out by a tiny little japanese man. Kudos to him. That buck looked even bigger with him and his buddy draggin it. From my experience with those guys coming out on the fishing boats (used to be first mate for reel legend in Ft Lauderdale) they will eat every piece of that buck though and even put shame to the old saying "you cant eat the antlers" so at least it went to a good cause and not some asshat that cuts off the head n backstraps
Was it Mr. Meathogee?

Check him out, The old big base buck. He makes an appearance on a trough every August or September. Then he disappears for the season with maybe a single night pic chasing during the rut. I finally got multiple pics of him coming and going from a more isolated area of WRP. Two cameras multiple days! He’s on his way down in old age but to beat this old man would be an accomplishment any hunter should be proud to accomplish. Wish me luck and the right winds. I’m stoked on this opportunity!68954243-622C-40D6-972E-E161560F8551.png

What's the story on these?????

I'm not much of a story teller but I had hunted the morning of the 4th without seeing much. Checked cams when I got down and had pics of the 8pt working a scrape. That afternoon I shot the 8pt with bow from my saddle a few hundred yards from the scrape. Only been on stand for 20 minutes or so when I heard him walking/cruising. Wind was perfect for where I set up and he came down the downwind side of the block of woods scent checking the area. Took several attempts to stop him, shot was maybe 10 yards. Took the next day off to process that one and was back on stand on the 6th. I hadn't seen anything and was in the process of texting @jhunter13 "I hate deer hunting this area" and hadn't hit send yet when I turned and saw the other buck standing there about 40-50 yards out. At first I couldn't see his head until he took a step and I saw some nice tine length. Ok. Then he turned his head a little and I saw the droptine. Ok. That got the heart pumping. Took about 10 mins and 15 yards of him moving to finally get a clear shot with the muzzleloader, I kind of rushed the shot a little and was worried. Added to the previous text saying "I just shot at a huge buck" and hit send. A nervous 30 minutes goes by as I sneak out and go back to truck to get help. He ran a long way on what turned out to be a perfect double lung shot. Rough scored him at 141 1/8. Unfortunately I was in a climber for this one so he doesn't count towards the contest.
