Bolt Roll Pouch

I don’t even have bolts but feel I need this pouch

Nice work

I love the design and ingenuity, but the full pouch is too much to deal with for me personally. I have a rollup rope pouch I sewed and used much of this season and I love this design for that application. For my bolts I use the cut down allen ammo belt with a carabiner so I can just stick my bolts in any dump pouch, hang on my chest, backpack, beltloop whatever since my kit is variable and I may want them to fit in several small locations. Its the same deal you have here with similar advantages, but the bolts aren't covered by material all the way around, just a center elastic strap. I feel like the G-hooks are gonna be loud and just slow you down personally and with your double elastic design coming down it the dark you have to slot the bolt through both bands of elastic instead of just one which is annoying enough for me as it is. No criticisms of your work or ingenuity, just my POV. Also I love the ASAT fleece, pretty slick.

I toyed with the idea of just using the cartridge belt after watching nutterbusters video. I think that would work great with his carbon bolts, but I have to believe there's a much greater possibility for noise with traditional bolts both when tossed in a pack and when dangling from my sternum strap when climbing. With the full roll and 2 strips of elastic these are absolutely silent and don't move at all when swinging them around. The g-hooks just get tucked behind after you deploy the roll and can't make any noise. I think these also load easier into the elastic because there is less "dingle-dangle" than the single cartridge belt. I left just enough slack in the webbing that they slide in easily without letting them flop around. Just my thought process before I made this. I could put it to the test next year and decide it sucks, only time will tell.

These are really good points, I feel like the steel bolts are so dense any noise they make while in the holder is very minor and doesn't ring out across the woods like my sticks/platform can. That is not my experience with metal g-hooks which always end up clanging on stuff loudly when I use them.

What kind of bolts are you using? Considering going the bolt method. I was thinking you could make a full loop covering the whole bolt. Leaving both ends open. This would be easy to insert the bolts in the dark and totally silent. Might try this.
