Both Eyes Open?

Dan Fitzgerald (I'm sure you heard of him) other than Tim Wells probably one of the best instinctive shooters out there is left eye dominant shoots a right handed bow. Looks to me
like he sights down the arrow with his left eye while closing his right. Looks really awkward but obviously works for him. I've heard him say it would be better to learn to shoot lefty if you are left eye dom. Check some of his videos on YT. You'll see what I mean.
I agree with this. If you’re just starting out and you haven’t invested a lot in the bow etc. try to shoot everything under your dominate eye. Shooting both eyes open is the ideal. Other people manage and mange well and ultimately it’s up to you but if you don’t want to make that leap(and I get it why you would not), I would close my left eye when shooting or put a patch on it or have glasses with a blocker much like cross dominate skeet or trap shooters. It is so easy to move to our dominate eye that you actively have to block it to ensure overall consistent success.

Go lefty buddy. Took me roughly 100 shots to not feel awkward. After that it was amazing.

That sounds great but not sure if this old dog can still learn that trick. Then there is the Big Jim bow I just won and love, of course my son would love to have it.... but then I have to buy a new bow, which opens up a butt whipping from my loving wife.
Rabbit hole after rabbit hole after rabbit hole and I like it... what is wrong with me?

Sounds great, I will keep an eye out for a low poundage lefty SAGE in the classifieds.

I still believe all Saddle Hunters are enablers and not truly a support group.

I got a lefty sammick sage takedown 30lbs for the wife that doesn’t get much use at all. You’re welcome to borrow it just shoot me a PM.

That’s just the baby catalog. Wait until you get the full year one, it’s about an inch and a half thick lol.

In a moment of strength I threw that catalog away without even opening it. I figured having to specifically search for something online and not being able to browse a catalog would save me some money.

Part of me regrets that decision......

Last year my wife asked me if I wanted that catalog and I said yes. Next thing I knew she was burning it with the rest of the cardboard before I got to browse it. She said she forgot I wanted it. Looking back it does seem fairly convenient lol

I can’t lie, that 3 rivers archery catalog is just old school cool. Something about a well done catalog makes it such a more enjoyable buying experience than adding stuff to an online cart. The pictures, descriptions, and being able to see multiple items at once is just undeniably better.

It reminds me of when I was a kid and dad and I would browse the cabelas catalog.

Also anytime you buy anything from 3Rivers they have a check box to send you a full-size catalog for free. So if you throw it out or your wife burns it “accidentally” they will send you another! :tearsofjoy: You’re welcome fellas! 89E9BCEB-D609-4AB2-8DF3-8C97717BD167.jpeg

You fellows looking for low cost bows. The Sage is a fine bow. Look into the Black Hunter recurves and longbows. Amazing prices! Even Big Jim sells a version of them. Down the road you just buy limbs. They are highly thought of by traditionalists.
