Boudreaux Boswell

I can appreciate it. I have been focusing on getting my 13 year old on deer. Then my daughter brought home her boyfriend this weekend. Aargh.

It has been a weird season man. Haven’t prioritized the time correctly this season. I waited for specific conditions to hunt certain locations. I shot my personal best at 6 yards and couldn’t find him. I hope “OceanLife” is treating you well buddy.
Man that was me 3 years ago. Missed a 350" Bull Elk Buck at 10 yards clean. Next day 125" gut shot never found him. Only two shots all season.
Still have that night mare year.
Boat life is good.
Missing the website but it just got to big for me.
Happy holidays to you and your family.

Man that’s sad. You’ve still got two weeks to get it done.

There was some bad blood when tethrd announced they were going to be producing a saddle. He felt that since aero hunter donated some saddles to the 2nd saddlepalooza that they were betrayed. Also, he felt that the mantis was a rip-off of the kestrel. The mantis was a pretty dramatic departure from the kestrel, and the kite had not been announced or hinted at. The consensus was pretty quickly made that Tethrd wasn’t a rip-off, and mentioning such didn’t go over well with him. He said some things I’m sure he regrets, and when people tried pointing out blatant differences between the systems in defense of the tethrd team, he reacted poorly as a double down on his previous comments. Threads were deleted, people had to be warned, several friends/family members of his jumped on with posts that definitely weren’t acceptable to the friendly attitude of the site, and he decided to leave.

It really is a shame because he had some great ideas, was definitely influential in the evolution of modern production saddles, and seemed to be a pretty nice guy when I met him at saddlepalooza.
Also, the saddle hype that resulted from the storm of Tethrd’s spectacular promotion DEFINITELY benefited Aerohunter. They went from a big fish in a small pond, to 50% of the market share in the fastest growing segment of the hunting market. So, I don’t think the bad blood was really worth it. The owners of Aerohunter seem to be really nice people and appear to have moved past it all pretty quickly, but we lost Bobby in the process.

All of this is just my opinion, of course, and is just my imperfect recollection from when it happened.
This is a great post. It brings me back to my introduction to saddle hunting which was not uneventful. Way back then I really believed that Greg who was all over the internet and youtube was secretly Saddlehunter.com. He had huge a online presence and great fun to watch so I had ordered a mantis. Shortly afterwards I realized things weren't going very well at tethryd . I was in the initial group of pre orders and ended up cancelling after 6 months went by and no saddle. To be clear! Good marketing sometimes exposes some bad things . Supply was short and so were many tempers including mine. I was angry and actually so embarrassed I had my screen name deleted ( my choice) after airing my complaints here. Not cool . It was VERY clear to me I had shook the hornet's nest. The post was locked due to some pretty nasty comments made by others not me. I ordered and received in short order a Kestral. When I called and spoke with those folks they were reluctant to discuss Bos whom I wanted to credit with my purchase . Now I know a little more about why. As things went I found out who the players were and re-joined Saddlehunter.com. I am extremely happy to be a member of this forum again. I`m a DIY`r and avid hunter, fisherman, and veteran. I mention veteran only because there are many in our ranks here. So in conclusion I feel this was worth also worth mentioning . Many folks new to saddle hunting might not have similar experiences now. There are so many choices. There wasn't a couple of years ago. It's a huge cash cow now and every mfg wants a piece. Despite this they all seem to be playing well together . Products are numerous and improving quickly. I hope the folks at Tetryd and Aerohunter can find a way to fix things. Bos and Greg in particular provided many newbies a choice in the beginning as to equipment . Saddle hunter has always provided the rest.

Hi about The High Priced Sit Drag Saddle Company? ;)

Never tried one myself! Only ever sat in my OG kestrel. I really want to check some others out and starting a new business adventure does seriously interest me!

I think it was the 4 month lead time version

Yeah I just meant original haha. I’m pretty sure it was the first run that I got. Now I wanna hear some Ice T. Maybe he can remake that tune for a saddle song:tearsofjoy:
