Bow sight?

I may look at the Boonie but with a Dark Owl Scope.
What's the advantage then of the Boonie without the three up adjustable pins? I can tell you're a sight junkie like me. Canyon Pounder not good enough huh? :tearsofjoy:

The reason for the Dark Owl scope is mostly size. The Triple Stack housing is huge. Not that it makes a difference in hunting but I barely got 100 yards out of that scope. I get about 130 from the CP. Dark Owl is still vertical pins so it’s clean and I believe it’s a 41mm housing.
The CP is awesome. However the UV was set up better. UV gave me the finger with an upside sight. I also really like the vertical pins.

Hey all, I don’t know really where to start. I’m getting a new bow from a friend and im
Looking to upgrade from my current sight (cheap fixed 3 pin). I’m kind of looking at a single pin, or sliding multi pin. I mostly whitetail in upper Midwest. Any suggestions on a solid sight ? Multi or single pin?

What aspect of your current sight do you want to upgrade?

I’ve been shooting a $30 Tru Glo sight w/ tritium pin since the 2000s and the only upgrade I’m interested in is dovetail style mounting. I think that mounting option is superior (I’d need to upgrade my bow to use it, lol), otherwise my sight does everything I need it to do.

This is a timely thread. I’m considering upgrading my sight and was looking at the EZ V, but no one has mentioned that.

I personally don’t know anyone that uses the EZV and I have never seen one in the wild. They get some love here. It’s not for me but that’s nothing against it.

I had one and they are simple and solid. The first morning out with it I shot a doe I couldn’t find. Not the sights fault but I have been shooting so long with a single pin that I just couldn’t get used to it. I sold it to a buddy who loves it. We did a little experiment on a local 3d range one afternoon. We shot 30 targets, I had a Garmin Xero and he had the EZV. He has a long 31” DL so a flatter trajectory than mine. Although I did better than he did. He lost one arrow and missed another shot completely (bothlonger distance shots), we were both impressed with the overall functionality of the sight. He actually flipped it around so he couldn’t see the lines and purely used the “V” function with a great deal of relative success. I had more 10s but I had no excuse not to using a range finding bowsight. He just started using the EZV that same summer and as he got more used to fitting the vitals he did better and better.

I will add about the EZV, windage related issues almost vanish with the EZV. If you ever try one, you will be impressed how everything stays quite naturally vertical with this sight. Our eyes naturally center things and this sight capitalizes on it. I just need a pin I’m too set in my ways i guess. Been shooting a bow since before kindergarten. I’m in my mid to late fifties now.

I use an EZV and love it. My eye sight has gotten worse as I have gotten older and I have progressive glasses. Using a sight pin and seeing the target together really caused me issues. Now I can just go through a shot process of framing the vitals and then focus on the spot I want to hit while I execute my shot. It works great for me.

I think he has the hook up for BG. I would call to make sure.

Those of you wanting vertical pins, check out the new B3 Rize Hunter. I have the Rize Target on my Rezult and it's a great sight. I posted this in the 2024 gear thread but felt it may be relevant here.
