Bowmar’s Sentenced for Wildlife Violations

I’m soul searching, and here may be the deeper source of my defense of them… Josh has a video for a method of peep tie in where you don’t cinch down the two ends of the diamond where your string splits for the peep. Works pretty good and has solved some peep rotation issues for me. For this I am grateful.
i was curious so just googled. he credits christopher perkins as the originator of the idea in his video so if this is similar enough then you can abandon the need to defend him because its not his idea anyway!
also looks like that peep video was from 3 years ago, he was less of a clickbait tool then.

I don’t care if he’s the biggest jerk around. A deer shouldn’t cost anyone a felony. They spent a pile of cash to defend themselves. Probably more than he made off that truck video, if that makes anyone feel better lol.

crime is crime. they knew the laws and ignored them, and paid the consequences. i dont feel bad that their bill was high. i think they got off easy, and personally feel like the message that was sent to their fan base is that you can flaunt the rules if you're wealthy enough, and that attaining that status is the goal.

perhaps im just grumpier than usual tonight i dunno lol.

There is a guy that will give you a file to 3D print his. He has a YouTube channel called Apex Predator Outdoors. Not helpful to us simple folk though lol.
my dad has a 3D printer. assuming this file is a compatible version ( i dont know much about this stuff) i'd be happy to ask him print some up and mail them out (for free) if someone wants to send me the file and is willing to wait a few months for logistics

Probably just another case of "the government has basically taken the fun, all the fun, out of hunting and fishing. It takes three lawyers to figure out how to go hunting and fishing" and further bloviation.

I’m in!!

If you look at this entire show, it isn’t any different than any other celebrity making bad choices or errors. Tiger Woods. Busted. Michael Vick. Busted. Barry Bonds. Michael Jackson anyone? Numerous NFL celebrities. Vince McMahon (WWE owner), Dana White (UFC owner), Connor McGregor…..the list is endless. They all do something, pay a fine or get sentenced, we all judge them and then move on. The Bowmars are no different. They are just in an industry we are interested in. The guy who owns Salt Life murdered his girlfriend. I wonder if all the fishing forums are talking about that.

Why should it not cost someone a felony?
I was speaking to a friend in Troy here. She's the city attorney. Told her the story and the outcome. She wasn't surprised and said she sees it all the time. Stuff gets pled down. He might have been in more trouble if he'd fallen the second time (when they had cameras rolling). It was also mentioned that typically the DNR usually takes the path of least resistance when prosecuting. She hates it too. She represents police officers here for the city. Stuff always gets pled down to keep the wheels moving. Terrific gal. Bad outcome. The real justice would have been a lengthy revoking of privileges. Keep his ass outta the woods.

I'm sure no one in this thread has ever fudged a sick day to go deer hunting... felony. To tie that into deer, we are a hyperregulated society, and branding people felons over deer does nothing to benefit society.

It wasn't about "a deer". You don't get a felony for poaching a single deer. You get a felony when you are an active part and ongoing part of one of the largest poaching rings uncovered in the state history and conspire to methodically illegally take and transport MANY animals with full knowledge of what you are taking part in. Without penalties, what is the point of holding wild game in trust for the people? I wish they had received a worse sentence FOR SURE as the law they knowingly violated for likes and clout clearly carries heavier penalties than they received.

huh? calling out of work isnt a felony, what in the world are you talking about? the wire fraud claim has been debunked and youre grasing at straws a bit here. i dont disagree that we're pretty highlt regulated, however the lacey act is supposed to protect our wild game species, so while it may have some flaws depending on personal opinion, it makes sense to keep enforcing like we have for the past 120 years or so.

Apologize for my post above. Some reason I thought I was on the post with the guy that nearly got away with murder. Oh yeah, just turned 66. Can you tell?

No it shouldn't.

).

If you think all of that is a fitting response to a game violation, you're wound too tight.
