Just curious where we can go to buy and maybe test equipment? Did a search here and did not find anything so started this thread. I get there is at least one annual show but that just doesn't cut it.

We here in SE Michigan have at least one good option, Eastern Woods Outdoors (formerly Hunters Den) in Lapeer. Great store with poles for testing platforms and saddles out before you buy. They had at least 15-20 different saddles to try and had 8 or so different platforms available from various manufacturers. Lots of gear for saddle hunting and then some. Also had a great selection of clothing, boots, bows, crossbows, archery gear and some guns. Knowledgeable staff of fellow saddle hunters. Bit of a cruise for me and I'm sure most of you. Just wondering what other options we have here in Michigan and in other states we may venture to.

a couple local archery shops here in S LA sell saddles and equipment (mostly latitude stuff). They also have platforms and poles for testing stuff out. They dont really advertise this stuff, you just have to know its there so i guess the point im making is check your local pro shops lol.

Welcome from West MI! Be on the lookout for a Michigan meet up. I'll be making a post about that soon. I'm slacking

Long range in Holland MI has weight bearing poles to test stuff. They have latitude for sure, trophyline I think and probably tethrd stuff. Not sure about trying out but Gold star ( edmore), Hilltop ( Greenville) and Jays ( clare) also have some saddle stuff

Grand valley sporting goods has some along with a tree/post inside their range u can use

I would also say best thing I would recommend would be to do a meet up when they are around. We have done one every year typically central mi area…great way to meet folks try new gear see mods done and try new techniques ie one sticking etc

Seeing more and more at local bow shops. If your bow shop doesn't have saddle gear maybe you and some nearby forum members could do a show-and-tell with the owner and staff and talk him into carrying stuff you don't already own, but might want to. I've been cheerleading Ethics components at my local bow shop, and talking saddles with them. Slowly wearing them down...

Eastern Woods Outdoors in Michigan has the Hunter’s Den physical location I wish we had something similar down here in Florida

Roth outdoors in Paola ks had a few during early season, they are getting into saddle hunting and will likely carry more

Ben’s outdoors in Marlette, MI has tethrd, trophyline, and latitude. No test poles.

Bay archery in Bay city, MI has some trophyline.

I'd be surprised if Beyond the Ears didn't have any saddle stuff. Not sure where you're at in SE MI, but Jays Sporting Goods in Clare might not be too far of a drive*.

*I'm up in the tip of the mitt and everything south of bay city and east of 127 is SE MI to me.

Where are they located?

They didn’t carry any saddle gear, but they did carry lots of high end gear like stone glacier packs and lots Sitka stuff.
