So, nationwide buckshot shortage! No I don't need #4 coyote loads either. I need grown-up rounds.

If any one has any info on any 3" or 3.5" 00 Buck (Winchester High Velocity or Equal Quality) I would really 100x over appreciate it.

I have a hunt planned for an island shotgun season in December. There is 23 of us going and doing nothing but driving deer for a week straight. Needless to say, we go through some buckshot. Last year the take home was 34 deer. (Meat gets divided and all gets used.)

All of us shoot either 3" or 3.5" 12 gauges. We are all set on slugs but as many of you probably know, buckshot is unavailable or back-ordered everywhere. I put an order in for 60 / 3.5" back in June and it isn't due in until the end of October. Just getting nervous is all, because I have already had a few things cancelled on me this year due to lack of stock.

If I can't get my hands on anything, do any of you make QUALITY reloads? Also, how much per shot? I could probably guarantee an order of at least 100 rounds...

Thanks in advance.

Give them a call and see if they can get you something. I've never used their buckshot but have used their turkey loads.

I cannot justify $5 a shot at all in any real world or fantasy. Even if I was loaded I wouldn't spend $125 on a box of 25 rounds, that's INSANE. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Oh, it's for sure pricey. But you mentioned quality handloads too, which I'm sure wouldn't be any cheaper. $5/shot is better than not having ammo for your hunt though...

Yeah, under worst case I will definitely give them a call. That is why I am saying thank you for the option! But, even some of the highest quality commercial stuff I've shot and looked into is no more than $3/ea so that is a hard pill to swallow, haha.

**** my arrows cost 30-40 each and maybe I'll find it...somehow they just vanish! If my arrow cost 5 bucks I'd never even waste the time lookin!! Those heavy shot turkey loads aren't cheap either. Those things are almost 10 bucks right?

Yeah I feel that but that's a different world haha

Man, I am so glad my grandpa was an ammo hoarder. When he passed, he left me 5 ammo cans full of everything 12ga brand new in the box. 2 cans are full of 00 buck, federal premium. I use to think he was crazy, he used to say, "one day there is going to be an ammo shortage". Now, I think differently. He was right, but never lived to see it. 9mm is currently going for $1 per round. I never thought I would see the day. I remember when a box of 50 was $12.50.

The price to reload now days is insane too! I used to handload quality .45 ammo for $5 for a box of 50, now the bullets are way way more than that!

I do reload 2-3/4" shotshells (mostly clay/small game loads). The die to change my machine to 3 or 3.5" shells is $120. You would have to be looking for an awful lot of ammo to make the cost up. I'm restricted to slugs in my neck of the woods. I only know little about shotgun reloading, but I am confident you could get some decent velocity out of a 2-3/4" shell.

Check out DixieSlugs.com might be an alternative to standard buckshot.

Theres tons of buckshot on gunbroker, I just looked quick and theres a case of winchester 00 3” on the first page, check it out, I have a pile of 3.5” 00 winchester but I need it for coyote season.

I can’t believe the price on those either, I used by them all the time for $350 $400, if it were me I would wait the price should come down people must have the fever bad, carbines have always commanded more money but it’s nothing to have a barrel cut by a smith

Guys the reselling of remanufactured ammunition without all the proper licenses etc. is a big no-no so please don't use the site to even talk about it.
