So been really watching the one stick/ rappelling method. My first thoughts were to try the ultimate 1 stick from ewo. But i have an extra beast mini stick and after adding a cam cleat ,the rope,a double step with a 2 step aider and a flat scout top all from ewo im looking at around 195. My question is would this be a good low investment one stick? Will the cleat work on the beast? Am i missing anything? Thanks for any help

Also is there another rope i can use with the cleat? The amsteel.one loops around the tube according to the video on ewo, would that put a lot of pressure one the cleat when up against the bottom of the cleat?

Check this out, I love my EWO, but if you already have a beast stick you could at least see if you like one sticking before you go all in…..

Watching the video, you could also use a rivet nut and not have to deal with the blind nylox nut

Would drilling all the way through have any adverse effects on strength?

I bought all three of my one-sticks used from the Classifieds.
That saved me a pile of money.

And the money I saved on those I spent on other used stuff from the Classifieds. That saved me a pile of money.

And the money I save on that stuff I keep putting towards my bi-weekly order at EWO... lol

I used as full length Beast stick last year to 1 stick. I wasn't sure how much i would like that style of climbing and I didn't want to go spend $ on a new stick or mod the Beast stick too much. It worked pretty well so I decided to build a stick dedicated for 1 stick climbing. I say give it a shot with what you have. If it's a style you like and want to continue to use, then go all in and build your stick exactly how you want.

So i ordered the cam cleat, 6mm rope and the 3 step ulimaider from EWO to start my build...ill hold off on a platform to see if i can score a used scout or monarch . Now i need advice one rappelling rope. Im gonna use a figure 8

Was it a bugger to get the nuts on the cleat bolts inside the sticks?

I drill out the back side of the tube then use a thin walled deep socket to get the nut on. Like how the beast stick versa button is attached

Build it. It’s easy if you have access to a drill press

Build it if you got the scraps lying around. Water knots work just as well as professional sewing for aiders, just a little more bulky.

I understand the concept of 'buy once cry once', but 'recycle failed shiny objects to new shinier object' is my motto.

I have submitted an order for an UOS, but I chose to start with a double step up top and run with my predator platform. If I decide to go with an ultimate platform, would it be fairly straight forward to replace the double steps with it or would I need to drill additional holes?
