Carbon SS Strong Enough?

For those that have the Carbon SS sticks I am curious how they have held up over the seasons?

Any issues with the little connection tabs breaking?

How do they bite into the tree not having metal teeth?

Would you buy them again?

Mine are great. Never had any issues at all. I have actually tried to get them to kick out and couldn’t.
Last season I modded one and used it as a 1 stick. Drilled through the center and slapped on a cam cleat. Worked great. Never had any issues at all.
I love the sticks and recommend them to everyone

I did the same thing with one of my sticks. I filled in the 'honeycomb' area around where I was going to drill with JB Weld first. I drilled it, put on the cam cleat, and it works great!

Structurally they have remained rock solid. I’ve lost weight and still weigh 220, and I have no concerns with their performance. I have worked/tested them pretty hard and had no kick outs or anything. I have since transitioned to 1 sticking but use them when I have a kid or other person with me. I would still recommend stealth striping them because they are loud otherwise.

I wasn't expecting to like them as much as I do. I had all the same concerns originally, but they are quiet, bite the tree well, and the attachment tabs hold strong. I will advise to wrap the attachment tabs exactly per the manufacturer, as I believe most that have had breakage had deviated from that. I actually used a single SS stick all last season for one-sticking and didn't find the attachment difficult to untie at all during moves. I chose this over my EWO one-stick with platform, if that says anything.

How about noise when standing on them or setting into the tree?
I haven’t experienced any noise standing on them, and as far as setting them the the noise is jest dependent on the type of tree but no different from other sticks.

And I agree with @Alec on sticking to the manufacturer recommended wrapping.

I’m going to have to check them out.
Debating between them and the Hyperlites right now. The price point and attachment method for the carbons is attractive.

If you are interested in the carbons you should check out this video.

It’s a few simple mods, that make the carbon sticks awesome imo. Not my video but I did mod my sticks this way and added a 3 step aider on my bottom stick.

I owned a set of four for two seasons and had zero issues. Just follow the manufacturer's video/instruction booklet on attachment and they were flawless. This spring I resold them to test out a set of four Tetrd One Sticks and like that they are a pound less and nest more compactly. But there was not a thing wrong or deficient in my SS sticks. I would recommend them to someone looking for lighter sticks without reservation.

I have not tried any other sticks with similar attachment points, so I'm speaking only of the SS sticks, but attachment method alone put these on top of my favorites list. It's so quick and tight I'm never going back to anything with straps or knots.
