Carrying a handgun and saddle hunting...

If you can find one Mystery ranch has holsters for their bino harnesses. I think they discontinued them, but I have one fits full size 40 perfect and doesn't interfere with saddle or bow at all. Ive also attached a MOLLE holster to my saddle prior to getting the mystery ranch add-on.

I like this idea

Thigh holster if you wear a belt, I carried my Glock 23 on my right thigh in a drop rig for several years on the west coast.

This is the best holster i have ever used for my Glock 20 10mm in my saddle and stands. Tryed a lot of different ways and always go back to my Alaskan hoster.Screenshot_20200315-084956_Chrome.jpg

So I carry my pistol on my waste every time I’m in the woods. There’s always a chance at snakes, coyotes, unwanted trespassers and Anything else on my property... does anybody have any ideas On how I can continue to carry and saddle hunt, without storing it in my pack? The traditional waste holster isn’t going to work out I don’t think....

I carry as well. Saddlehunting or not. I generally pack a glock with a kydex ITW holster. Walking out to were I hunt it’s not uncomfortable if I leave it inside the waste. That’s where I leave it if I’m hunting on a private permission so I don’t raise any eyebrows while walking out. On PL I clip it on the inner thigh strap of my kestrel. Fits great there. Is comfortable. And easy to get to if I ever needed it. I’ll just leave it there throughout the hunt on PL. On private I’ll take it off my waste and either put it in my pack or clip it to the inner thigh strap while in the tree. Hope this helps.

I’ve seen these, haven’t put much though into it, but I’ll definitely start looking at them. Thanks

I’ve looked into them and think they are a great option. Yet they are expensive and aren’t suitable for my needs since it would hender me wearing my binos and not easy to conceal in the early season if I needed to. But they are a great holster

I’m reading this thread and dreaming. Up here in Canuckistan handguns are “restricted” firearms and can only be taken to the shooting range (I’m simplifying this).

There are some people who are trappers and linesman and the like who work in serious bear country who can get a permit to carry. I personally feel hunters and campers should be able to get the same permit. Why is my life less valuable because I’m in the woods for enjoyment and not work?

Anyway, keep it going guys and I’ll keep dreaming!

I have a gun belt that I have zip tied to my saddle and I use an inside the waistband holster. I put my carry at the 4 o'clock position over the gun belt (I cut a notch to make sure the holster clip snaps closed). This also makes my gun always be in the exact same spot.

I almost always have a leafy green 3-D top and bottom so it's always concealed and very easy to get to in case I need it.

Drop holster from Alien Gear holsters. It sits pretty low and clears my saddle set up.

I'm going to try this as well. Just picked up some from OneTigris to test out. I have a Hill People Gear kit bag that I like as well.

I carry a glock 20 in a Gs holster chest rig, MR bino harness fits over it. I forget it's even there.
