How many guys out there are carrying your sticks in with a sling? I’m debating ditching the backpack and trying to figure out the best way to sling them in. Any pictures of your sling and how they carry in?

I carried my heliums inside my fleece saddle last fall and just threw the bridge across my opposite shoulder. Worked like a champ.

Absolutely, use nite ize, i use my back band to carry them. works fantastic and no extra gear to carry. I can post pics later, they are on here somewhere already

That looks like it would work, just depends how long you can make the strap. I am sure everyone is different with how close and to what part of their body they want the sticks. Here is another option I saw in a similar thread. looks similar

You could use Nite Ize twist ties or paracord on a gun sling to do that too.

This makes sense. Slip knot in paracord might be the way to go. I have a few of ties I could give a try too. Ideally I can seamlessly move them from my shoulder to my waist while climbing so it’s nice and quick.

Thanks for the link. When searching, “sticks”, “sling”, “carrying” in the forum, it doesn’t exactly return with narrowed down results. :expressionless:
LOL agreed! I always appreciated when others linked older threads into a new one makes it quick!

I have a strap from my Ameristep steps converted to a carry strap for sticks. It attached to what is always my bottom stick. That strap also doubles as an aider strap. It allows me to get just a little higher. I like stuff that can do double duty. A weaker strap won't act as an aider.
That being said, I still hate sticks. Hate carrying them, unwrapping, hanging, and rewrapping them. But if I have to use sticks, they are carried with a strap. I'm not a fan of a large pack with complicated schemes for loading, unloading and hanging it while hunting. The less stuff I carry the better. Straps multi task. Packs can only carry stuff and that's all they do.
