I like you post just fine - not worth changing except the other sure is pretty The deer do not care about the post. I could drill two holes in your post and they would be equal except one would look cool

Lol no worries here, they both have their qualities. It's a pretty post. And solidly built. I actually told him he should charge more for it. I don't know a single machine shop that would sell this piece for that price. Truth be told I bought one myself to try out. I personally like the longer post for more stability and less torque on the brackets.

The only reason my kit is comparable in price is I include over 12 feet of amsteel that is spliced to give you a way to attach to the tree. Without that, it is a hand made kit rather than machined, and the price is cheaper.

When I started making these, my goal wasn't to make a bunch of money. There was just a group of folks who didn't have the tools or skills to make their own post. By buying in bulk and working with a local sheet metal fabricator, I was able to provide a kit that I considered safe and was within my ability to build. As it turned out, a bunch of people liked it so that is a bonus.

#1 reason is you can't buy Muddy brackets. You have to steal them from sticks.

I also broke a Muddy bracket camming over my platform.
