CLASSIFIED SCAMMERS

One suggestion, not sure if considered, but I think this is the same spammer just creating new accounts, setting up and watching the new posts in the for sale section, and his one strategy is jumping in with PM before the original poster responds.

I think you can only post in the classified section if you are a member, right? Well, if you made it so that you can only view the classified section if you are a member, then this spammer would need to subscribe each time he gets banned. Now, if you ban him, he can make another free account and gets back to the same strategy without interference. If you make it so you can only view classifieds as a member, then either he'll give up after you ban him a few times bc he'll need to keep subscribing, or he'll keep subscribing and then give back to the community this way :)

2 things. It's a pretty common scamming strategy so I don't think it is just one guy doing it. We're able to track to some degree when there is overlap between log ins.

The classifieds are left viewable to everyone so that the paying members have a larger audience for their sales. If only members could view the classifieds the pool of people to sell stuff to would go down dramatically. I appreciate your thoughts :)

Seriously we're on it, please avoid Lisa532jones while we deal with the account. It goes without saying but I don't think too many women from India look like Lisa's profile picture.
 
The wife was sitting right across from me when I opened the PM. I said "I hate to do this to you on Christmas eve dear but I think I just got a better offer." I swung the computer around so she could see the PM. Her reaction was an eye roll and a simple "Good Luck with that." before she went back to whatever she was doing on her phone. :tearsofjoy:
