I’ve been using the beast mini sticks with the buckle cam straps. Not a huge deal to use them but I’d prefer something easier to deal with in weight and packing like Amsteel. Anyone just use a rope mod or the usa ultimate stick aider attachment. Trying to figure out if it’s worth switching

I had a set of heliums and used rated rope w/a versa button. Worked really well. No I have Muddy Pros w/the cleat and I like that also. I do think the versa button and rope is better.

I really like the muddy attachment best. They were just super heavy compared to the beast sticks. What about daisy chain vs just a straight rope type mod with amsteel?

Nothing compares truckers hitched daisy chain. It's all I'd ever use on my beasts. You cannot kick out a truckers hitched beast stick no matter how hard you try. Only way it's happening is catastrophic failure of the amsteel or versa button

Ok great! I’ll YouTube how to use that method. Sounds like that might work perfect. I was thinking about the Onestick instead but this makes more sense

I ordered a 4-pack of Beast sticks that have been in the UPS local facility for the past 16 hours....according to their tracking.....but they didn't bother to put them on a truck and drive them 25 miles today. Delievert says Monday and by golly that is what they must be committed to. On the way home from our kids's house today, I passed a UPS truck about a mile north of our home and was momentarily excited that there might be a box on the back porch.....NOPE!!!

So getting back to the gist of the thread.....I have EWO strap daisy chains for my LW full length sticks that work fine, but getting the second one on and off the versa button on the side of a tree is often challenging. I've been watching several online videos about daisy chain Amsteel and am thinking that is the way to go. Not the simple 'find the closest loop' and deal with the slump.....but a tied in method that is show on the Latitude website. Not sure if that is referred to as the "truckers hitch' method, but it looks simple and secure.

I do not have Beast sticks, LW sticks.
Go to the 1:50 mark. I do the side shuffle on my sticks with a daisy. Easier to do in cold weather compared to a truckers hitch.

I use the same technique with my LW full length sticks and EWO daisy straps. However I've read/seen that some folks have had kick-outs doing that with shorter sticks. Have you had any issues with your LW sticks?

I ran the LWCG long sticks this year with no issue. I have used this attachment previous on short sticks with no issue.
But you need to give it a try yourself, I am no expert.

I’ve used straps, daisy chains, and rope mods. I bought a set of USA with tenders from the Amsteel Guy. Fastest, easiest attachment method I’ve used. And you have the ability to use it as a rope mod, truckers hitch, or original method it was designed for.

This video on the Latiitude website demos the Amsteel daisy chains they sell, plus shows a version of the 'trucker's hitch' method I plan to use when I get mine built. I ordered a length of 1/8" Sampson blue amsteel in black last night and plan to make my own over the winter to have them ready and well tested for '24.

Agreed here... I made my USAs but same comments apply. Fully disclosure, I've never tried daisy chains but I'm good with my setup for now. Only thing I'm considering is dropping the aiders and just carrying in more sticks... I've got 6 beast minis and 6lbs isn't a huge difference when the climbing is that much more secure.

I finally gave in and bought 2 more sticks. Made a USA-style rope for one and daisy for another, third stick is my onesticking Shikar with cam cleat.

I fully expected the schwabish hitch adjustable USA to be the winner, but it might not be the case.

That friction hitch takes two hands to tighten and it only tightens so far. I know I could add a tender to it but then it would become quite complicated system already and even with a tender there's bit of slack.

Meanwhile the daisy was kinda pain to build. I did 7cm loops, just shy of 3". It needs to be used with the truckers hitch method really. That allows pulling the rope tight while holding the stick in one hand and rope in the other. If you're right between loops still, do another turn around the button and you're pretty much guaranteed to be in right spot. With other hand on the stick you can wiggle it up and down to get the rope perpendicular around the tree for least slack to start with.

Mine have a tender. One-handed operation is all it takes to get it plenty tight. The tenders on mine are the ones supplied with the USA. Without the tender it wouldn’t be near as convenient.
