Compound bow hoisting/lowering hook up position

No matter what you do or where you hook up, if you set your bow on the ground where it is muddy, you are going to get something on it. Otherwise, no issues with raising or lowering using the d loop as my clip point.

Bet that’s an awesome looking sling hahaha
It certainly is @Anobody! I couldn't be happier with it and don't now how I went that long without one.
I had tagged you in the original post but then deleted before I submitted because I wasn't sure you were still making any and didn't want you to get any unwanted solicitations. That said, are you interested in making another? If so shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to procure another.

Another option is to bring a garbage bag with you. Use it to set your bow and pack on ground to get dressed or ready to climb or whatever. Set bow on that when you climb. It won’t get muddy. Doubles as a place to take a nap. Triples as a place to place meat while cleaning a deer. Quadruples as a bag for toting mushrooms or other found stuff home with you.

Why not just adjust the length of your rope for the trip down so the bow is not on the ground if it is going to land in mud?

I clip onto the bottom cam to prevent dirt in nicks. When I repel down I use my gear ties and quick twist my bow onto my pack. I use my gear hoist for my repel retrieval and this keeps me from power stuffing my bow in the dirt when I come down.

I have a gear tie on mine I wrap the limb. I have a S-biner on the other end. The gear tie doubles after I roll it up I wrap my rope with the gear tie and clip the s-biner to my pack. I clip the s-biner to myself when climbing then to my rappel rope down.

Anybody hooking up to their d-loop had a problem with it rotating on your string and when you come to full draw your peep isn’t straight? That’s my worry with hooking to the d-loop. Thanks!

Good question

No. Bow weighs 4 lbs the d loop hold steady at 70 lbs draw. Honestly the bow is so balanced at the d loop that it almost feels like it moves and rotates less than when you pull it from the cam

What’s this sling look like?

Where are u guys attaching to your bow? I have always used the top wheel. When I'm lowering back down it seems to always put the nocks in the dirt and quiver side down. I'm tired of that happening and plan on experimenting with different location to hook up the rope to the bow.... Anybody already figured this out
Top cam coming up and bottom cam going down. Keeps nocks out of ground

Paracord loop through any one of the multiple riser holes that suits your fancy. I have one on both ends if the riser for lifting/lowering and clipping on a simple carry strap like on a duffle bag.

You guys think too hard sometimes.

Check out staggs in wild video he had some good points on how to attatch pull up rope to compound wrapping it around stabilizer going up and reversing going down

I am wanting to use my rappel rope like Staggs in The Wild shows in videos for hoisting bow. It looks like he spliced a loop of dynaglide into his tether rope end which he wraps around stabilizer. Does anyone have a closeup of this or preferably video tutorial?

Clip into the top cam going up and bottom going down so my nocks are never traveling forward to snag on anything going up or go in the dirt going down. I do like the Staggs in the Wild method. I may have to try that. It looks like it would work great.

Paracord loop thru a hole in the riser, looped around the stabilizer. Broadheads down. I usually stage my bow on the ground about 6' from the trunk so nothing gets dropped on it and if I fall I'll hopefully miss the stabby bits. When I lower it I try to set it about as far away fron the trunk for the same reason.

I usually don’t lower my bow, I just toss it off of the stand. Usually I make it land on brush fo soften the blow

oh yeah it’s a longbow.:grinning:
