@Zero One Actual did you ever figure out the front pouch extension strap? Do you know where the buckles are sourced?
I did not figure out where they are sourced sir. But you can just order a set of buckles from Amazon like this search shows.

Also, when I called Cruzr they mentioned maybe creating one or including one in future packs or as an accessory. I haven’t had time to make my own. But the plan is to run the strap as my gear hanger by taking Genesis 3D hooks and attacking them to the extended strap. Then using the pouch at eye level for storage and using the strap as my gear hanger so everything is all in one.

Just got mine today and I must say I’m more impressed than I thought I would be. I saw it at the mobile hunters expo and never even stopped to look at it.

I love that it rides high and tight. It doesn’t feel heavy at all and my predator sits great in the platform spot.

My one complaint so far is that the zippers for the main compartment seem to catch fairly easily on the material they have on the inside to help from keeping the bag open up all the way flat. Anyone else have that issue?

Mine did it at the beginning, but it went away for me through repeated use as the bag got more pliable through repeated use.

after spending a week hunting using my Popup 38 to haul my stuff around I came home and ordered one of these Escape packs this week. Can't wait to get it. less bulky, less weight, less noise, more smaller pockets etc should make it a major upgrade. I like the Popup and will still use it just not as my primary saddle hunting pack.

That's an interesting showdown. A pack that can haul a deer vs a pack that can haul a platform.

I can see where one would be preferable to the other, situationally. And where one would be superior to the other, regardless of situation.

But I've not tried the Escape pack, so I'm just speculating...It's got some upside.

Looking forwards to the review.

I generally hunt 2 types of public land plus I have a deer lease... deer hunting in hardwood bottomland forest in East Tx where i can use an ATV to retrieve any deer/hogs plus they prefer you don't quarter and pack out so the biologists can get weights and other info on the animals. The other type is south texas deer/nilgai hunts on NWRs where either trees generally aren't big enough/suitable for hunting out of or any type of tree mounted stands aren't allowed. So East TX or my hunting lease I'll be using the Escape. I hunt on my hunting lease with my saddle as if it were public land instead of having set stands.

In South TX I have a nilgai hunt coming up in November and I will be using the Popup in case I have to quarter and pack out a nilgai or deer. I've done that with the Popup once before with a nilgai I shot and it worked great for hauling quarters out. So yeah I'll be using both depending on the situation.

I have what I call messy OCD. My biggest complaint with the pop up 28 (and even more so with the F1 mainframe with batwings) was the lack of organizational ability with the lack of pockets.

I liked the hauling capabilities of them, but didn’t take advantage of it often enough to justify the lack of organization, pockets, dividers etc.

The escape and the pop up are very different, but both suitable for saddle hunting for different people depending on their needs. Personally I’m a huge fan this far.

Amazingly I already received the pack yesterday. Ordered on Sunday, Monday was a UPS/USPS holiday and I still received it in Texas on Wed.

First impressions are that it is exactly what I hoped it would be. Much more quiet material than the Popup. A couple of pounds lighter and more compact although still a good sized pack with plenty of room for anything I'll need. Like MIPublic mentioned, much better organization with all of the smaller pockets that are more accessible on the Escape. My platform fits perfectly and sticks attach easily to the bottom(or sides if you prefer). Currently I'm using Skeletor sticks and they stick out pretty far on each side when hanging from the bottom but I'm thinking hard about switching to something like the new Lattitude carbon sticks next year but want to give them a season of testing by other people in the field to make sure they don't have any issues first. Might have to just pack the Skeletors vertically for now as they are 24" long and I imagine will snag a lot going through the woods. I always packed vertically w the Popup.

I really like the removeable pouch and already have it set up so I can just take it off with everything I'm going to need while in the tree right there conveniently haging in front of me instead of having to dig around through the bigger pack to find anything. I'll probably attach it to the tree with a camjam and paracord as I have a few of those laying around.

I also like how it rides high. That's basically how I had my popup set to ride anyway so it feel natural to me.

Headed to the lease this afternoon to give it a try in the field for the first time.

UPDATE:

After 1 use I only have 1 issue with the pack. The straps on the bottom did not stay tight around the sticks. I only hiked from my truck down about a half mile to my tree and by the time I got there the straps were loose. Probably gonna have to look into some better buckles for them. Some buckles like on the Popup that really holds them into place. However, with the width of the Skeletors I can't carry my bow over my shoulder anyway without smashing by bow into my sticks so gonna have to carry them vertically on one side for right now anyway.
