Narrowed it to these two for a first time attempt at saddle hunting. I know the latitude is new so hoping a few you you have some first good impressions. Time is diminishing as season opener get closer so looking to order something soon. Thanks

The only one you can get before Oct 1.

The recon or latitude are likely available quickly. The Cruzr XC is the most comfortable but the other two are just fine

The Cruzr XC is the best for a new hunter. Why. Simple. You will have hard time making it uncomfortable with poor tether height or the wrong bridge length and the wrong position on your butt and it is simple to put on.
It will not take a few sits to get it just right and you will not have to get into saddle shape. The same goes for a JX 3.

Ordered both just to compare. The only thing holding me back from doing that all along was the price with both of them being on the more expensive side. Wait on the latitude originally said 3-4 weeks but now all I see is 2-3. Didn’t see any wait time notice on the cruzr until I had already ordered it. Now I see it says up to 5 weeks. Hoping they come sooner than later and at a similar time that allows me to compare. If I’m being honest though, I’m anticipating the Cruzr a slight bit more. We shall see

You never know unless you try them

I'm really surprised on how quiet it is about the method saddle, I thought there be a lot more rage and love for it. It seems like by now there should be plenty of them out in the hands of the saddle community.

Only a couple threads, and not many recent posts

I'm going to bump up this thread until I have time to do a complete review. But I have no idea what anybody could find not to like about the method saddle at least not at my size (5' 11" 34 waist 205#). I'm no expert when it comes to saddle hunting, but have sat in my fair share of saddles. I own three different saddles last year, and I've purchased three different this year.
The method saddles what I'll be hunting with this season. I will post a short review in a couple days.

I want to try a 2 panel saddle. Was gonna try the latitude but I hear it fits small. I am a 38” waist so that scared me off. I was going to try an ess when released.

Supposed to be making a bigger size method sometime this fall. I will probably be getting the bigger size one for late season. Use the regular method when it is warm. I really like this saddle. I gave dad my flex so I am down to only the method left. My buddy has my phantom. Which he likes so I will probably just sell it to him.

whats your waist size and do you feel it’s small?

I am 5 11 225 38 waist. It could be a hair bigger but comfortable. I think it would be tight with cold weather clothes on but haven't had a chance to try it yet layered up. So not totally sure. If you are borderline I would probably wait for the bigger version.

I am 6 - 4 250 38” waist. Sounds like I should wait.

Maybe I sounded too critical of the latitude.
I am a 37 or 38 waist. I thought it was not bad but preferred the recon, I think because the recon fit bigger. The Cruzr XC is still more comfortable than both of them IMO. I really like how light and quiet the latitude was with the rope belt and it worked great. I really like how you can hook up the back panel. The way the back panel hooks up makes it really nice to walk in. Those features are innovative and super. The oplux waist belt works very well. I wish I had it on all my saddles.

Two panel saddles have to be placed right for comfort.

My criticism for comfort was simply comparative. I think the latitude is above average for comfort and maybe exceptional for a smaller guy. I like my saddles big and comfortable and the recon fit better. Now a larger latitude might suit me better.

To be quite honest I had very low expectations for it after reading on the forum. So I was actually shocked how much I liked it. This is my first two panel, so maybe that's why I like it. I typically find the advice on here very accurate, That's why I was surprised. I guess it just proves it comes down to body shape and personal preference.

I really like both of them, but ended up keeping my Cruzr XC after doing a couple long sits. It fits me just about perfect. I would like to have another Method at some point, but for now I'm sticking with the XC. I'll probably wait until Latitude offers it in another size to pick one up.

I have been climbing and hanging in Cruzr for past three weeks. Just received Method in mail yesterday and haven’t hung in it yet. So far pretty impressed with it but given how much I am liking the Cruzr I am skeptical I will switch this season unless the Method just completely blows me away. Gonna play with it this weekend and will post back my thoughts.

Interested in your comparison!! I have Cruzr XC and am tempted on the Method........

Method should get here today. Cruzr is still about 2.5 weeks out. Really have highest hopes for the Cruzr but it’ll be hard to not commit to the method since that’s the saddle in my hands before opener so we’ll see. Anyone else have experience with the two of these that could shed more light?
