Slap a sticker on it telling me not to use them to support my body weight

I would talk to a lawyer if you have one to be sure you’re on the up and up

That's a good idea. I do work for a pretty large corporation, and we have a legal team. I'm sure I could ask someone up there for there advise.

First thing you need to do is setup an LLC. Someone is going to ruin it for those of us just trying to help out the community. Better to lose the business in a lawsuit than get sued personally. I'm still working on getting insurance, terms and conditions, etc. For testing, I'm doing my own destructive testing to make sure I'm comfortable selling them to others. To get into certification, etc., its going to really start driving the price up. Gonna keep researching as I go. Check with Tethrd to see what they had to go through - that's a different story altogether though since the saddle is your life support system. If that fails, goodbye. For SquirrelSteps and DoubleSteps, these are to be used while you are tethered in or connected to the tree. Good luck with your endeavor!
That's great insight! Yeah, unfortunately in today's world there are people who will turn it all for the rest of us. I guess you just got to be prepared for that.

The hard part I have with this project and selling it to people is if someone climbs without a lineman rope and the step fails, who's at fault? The company making the step or the person for not using the proper climbing equipment...

If the step fails, I would consider you responsible. If they fall off the step, I would consider them responsible. I'm not a lawyer but I'm sure a good lawyer could argue and win the case both ways lol.

Any new news??
I do have an update! Sorry it's been awhile since the last one.

We were able to print 2 more steps, that incorporate or latest design changes. They are a little big smaller on the top width and length of the step where your foot will go. We added some chamfers in certain spots, and decreased a few thickness. I think this is our final design! At least for a ring of steps.

We are about to invest in a pressure pot to silicone mold our 3d printed steps. Once that is functional I can start making a lot more of these steps, and start selling them to the people on this forum. We still have a ways to go before we are at that point though. Not sure about the price, haven't setup our LLC, and thinking about molding in a disclaimer on the steps. Thoughts on the disclaimer??

I have been thinking more about a climbing method lately. I want to design something like the wild edge steps, where they cam over using a rope system, and stack very easily. Still working on that though, may be awhile.
