Custom or premade tree strap/lineman belt

I’m considering ordering 7/16 three strand rope with 3-inch eyelets, from R&W rope, to use as my tree strap and lineman belt in conjunction with ropeman 1 on both. Just wanted to hear input on what you guys are doing. I can order my mantis with their ropes or just order the saddle and do my own ropes. Thanks in advance!
 
IF your buying from Mantis, get everything as they have done the homework. Spliced eyes would be my choice over double figue 8 knots. I use bluewater assault line, dont think its easy to eye splice. I have double figure 8 knots. My next rope will probably be predator which I think is what Tethrd uses. Its just softer/more flexible. I like my current line, but always looking at new stuff.
 
The Tethrd tether is good. I find it works best with the Ropeman 1 and the Wild Country Ascent. It did not seem to grab as well with my other ascender (Kong) or carabiners.

A 3” eye might be small for a tether. 5” works well. It’swhat the Tethrd one has and what I used on my Sterling HTP.
