Deciding Between Treehopper Recon vs Tactisaddle

I’m looking for something lightweight and more minimalist than a traditional tree saddle. This is mainly going to be for use with a hang on and as a linemans belt, but I would also like the option to hunt out of as well. Who has experience with either setup or is there one I’m missing or overlooking?

I have tried both and for comfort I find the recon saddle(Anderson sling)as comfortable as any saddle I’ve tried to date.
But for what your wanting it for the tactisaddle may be better for you due to waist belt design it may climb better with linemen’s rope.
And also it’s design is so minimalist you won’t know you have it on.
To be honest I didn’t try the tactisaddle very long so comfort I can’t speak for on long sets.

I hunted out of tactisaddle all year last year usually 15 hours in a tree a week from Sept- january. Love it. Cant reccomend it enough.

I haven't hunted out of either, however I just ordered a Recon, talked to Mark on the phone and back and forth with a few Emails. The level of courtesy and customer service was second to none. I'm like a 50 year old little kid waiting for it to come. Been hunting out of a TL for a long time, Can't wait for the recon to show up!

Curious if you tried the original Tactisaddle too? I found it much better than the new model, especially didn't like the feel the new linesman loops created in use compared to the original.

I haven't had any problems with the new lineman loops but they are different. I had the 1st Tactisaddle and really liked it.The new one is even better useing lineman belt as a second bridge for long days but the Recon is great for all day!!

Can you post any pics of you in the recon? How do all those straps in the back feel? Whats the weight / bulk feel like compared to the tactisaddle?

Never sat in a tactisaddle but the recon sling is legit.
