Boiled chicken and white rice with a bit of sweet potatoes works wonders for our pit bull when her stomach acts up
I have a Beagle with issues. We feed him a little Purina Pro mixed with rice and WalMart can chicken.
I knew a doctor that had 4 large dogs. She fed them each 1/2 of a raw chicken every day. Not saying to do this, I always thought that was unique.
Cooked Chicken and white Rice no ingredients until stomach settles for 48 hours. If you really love your animal you can chop it up into small bits easy for them to consume. Then slowly introduce food back in.So I know lots of you guys out there have dogs. I got this 2yr border doddle who I can't put weight on. Over all he seems pretty happy. Runs hours in the back yard. But his food just runs threw him, and he is always hungry. I have tried lots of different foods. All sensitive stomach stuff. Limited ingredients. Give him probiotics. History of parasites and Guardia. He was a rescue pup. Pretty sure he came from a puppy mill. But I can't get his gut right.
Anyone have any natural stuff they have done to help fix their dog? He really liked the old venison and rice I fed him once upon a time. But I don't have any more old stuff.
I am a big fan of natural remedies if possible. So curious if any one can help me out.
Any herbalist?
I’m not advocating raw food diet but not because dogs can’t do a raw food diet. They are not susceptible to salmonella but can carry the bacteria which can be harmful to us humans. They can eat poop and re digest it I so they’ll be ok with some chicken.I really don’t recommend raw chicken, good way to give the dog salmonella and get it yourself.
I’d much prefer a commercial dog food because they are well balanced in nutrients.
That’s a good way to spend a lot of money you may or not be able to afford. I know they got my sister in laws dog on the special gut food and it cost about 4x the typical dog food, she went a couple grand in debt on a credit card trying to continue to get it for a big lab she has. It didn’t solve all of his gut problems. I think every case it gonna be different. Don’t think that there arent vets trying to sell medicine just like doctors.i would find a good vet that practices science-based medicine

I love him. But love my wife and kids more. So feeding him chicken and rice on a regular basis is out. Not enough time.Cooked Chicken and white Rice no ingredients until stomach settles for 48 hours. So sounds like he's still having issues. I totally understand him eating better too. I'm a dog lover too, but a doggie chef I am not lol.I love him. But love my wife and kids more. So feeding him chicken and rice on a regular basis is out. Not enough time.
He can't eat better than us. Lol.
Man I feel you here, my pit never even knew what people food tasted like till we had kids, now I can’t get her out the kitchen. Recently we had to take her in for two weeks of bloody diarrhea. Really thought this was it for her as she’s 15 which is ancient for a pit bull. Doc said her pancreas enzymes were high and recommended I scale back her regular food and mix in some tuna or salmon with a probiotic she gave me. Took a couple weeks but she turned around and has regular stools now. It got me thinking wonder if it was her food? Recall a few years back that pet food company got sued I think for putting something in the pet food and killed a bunch of pets? Not saying that’s your case but if your vet is drawing blanks maybe a substitute or elimination diet might work if a sensitivity test comes up negative.Right now I am feeding him Solid gold. The leaping waters salmon, digestive health food. He has been on that for a few months now. I tried it before, and it's the best luck I had out of anything I tried. He gets 5-6 cups through out the day. Plus a probiotic. And I give him some gluten pill my wife has been using. Suppose to help heal leaky guts. No prescriptions.
With kids I can't keep everything off the floor, and he lives to clean it. So he is always finding something. I give him some grain free treats occasionally. Over all he seems healthy. Just thin. Spends his days out side in the back yard running circles barking at the cars going by. So he gets lots of exercise.
Which I do believe it part of the reason things are loose. I think his morning ones when he is rested are fairly solid. But when he gets running is when I get pancakes from him.
So when I clean up the yard, it's a range of specimens. A few decent ones, a few okay ones. Then a few wet ones.
He is very active and hyper. Stubbornness of the poddle, mixed with the energy of the border collie.
