Ditch the Ropeman

It actually tends the jammy in a prusik pretty well for as good as they grip. It is a little sloppier on the 8mm bit it still isn't bad, and would be,better with a distel hitch because it would be sandwiched between the end loops.

I ordered the shizll's from Bishop company, but it was over a year ago.

Not 5 days, I just got the last one in stock I could find!

Karst has them for $1.24
I was about to order a few just to try, but decided to leave well enough alone. For my 8mm rope that nylon bushing works so well I'm not sure how it could be improved. I need to find something with a larger ID for my 11mm rope though.
I'll be on the hunt locally for some solid brass or better yet, nylon rings. I'm afraid the metal ring on a string might be noisy.

The brass tack rings I use with a small piece of cord are not noisy at all, just letting you know based on my experience of using that. I like the brass ring becasue there is hardly any bulk to it and the tiny piece of cord.

This Shizll looks great, but might be a little big on 8mm OpLux. Anyone tried it out yet? I've also only found one place that sells them - TreeStuff.com.

My Kong rep already got back with me about those keychains and I can order these direct - MSRP is $1.00. Hmm, wish I could predict the future so I would know how many to order. @Red Beard - do these really work great on 8mm? Would they also work for 9mm do you think?
Bro, if you can get them for that... I'd like two more please!

Yes, it's crazy awesome on the 8mm. I can try it on 9mm tonight and report back.

Now we just need a place to buy 8mm oplux

I tried a prussic tender for a season, I wasn’t a fan. For as simple as a ropeman1 is, and how little shock load my system will put on it, I will continue using it.
Tenders are definitely a great option, though.

@DanO Here you go good sir. First picture is the 8mm; second is 9mm HTP.

Methinks there be a certain woodsy, outdoors-type company in the east that will have a bunch of these ready for shipping shortly. It may behoove ye to double-step on over there before ye be missing out on the lot! ;)2019-09-20 22.31.37.jpg2019-09-20 22.32.16.jpg

I snagged one for I think $5. Now I see it’s up to $10. It’s b.s. I think the algorithm in amazon does that

God, I wish I was Jeff Bezos

Here's a couple pics for comparison. First is the Mini figure 8 inside a regular figure 8. Then installed on 8mm Sterling OpLux under a Beal Jammy. Can't wait to try it out!
