Why do you say the schwabish takes up les space on the line? I feel like it takes marginally more in a lot of cases. The distel you can easily tweak the hitch-carabiner distance by retightening your poachers which I really appreciate.

The schwabish ends (or can end) with poachers knots on the carabiner. Same as the distel.

Fair enough - I guess I find it odd for someone to use that as a point of preference, but leave so much space from hitch to carabiner. From my perspective that is one of the key benefits of using end to end hitches with tied rather than sewn ends.

I like short ends, but longer seems easier to tend.

Looks good. Seems like you could remove a turn but it’s really up to what you’re experiencing live. Happy hunting.

You could try less turns. I had my jammy with 4 turns and I had trouble loosening it. I went to 3 turns and it is easier. I went to a klemheist and is easier still. I tied an alpine butterfly to reduce the excess length.

Maybe try taking a wrap out or two. I think you have 6 in and only four are needed if I remember right.

My useful knot app advises 3-5 wraps for a prussic. I have always used 4 with good results.

I will try less wraps. I went with more as to decrease the length.

I don't see a tender as useful on a tether anyway. Maybe try another hitch that releases easier (klemheist, schawbish would be a couple)

I need a tender for 1 stick method or if I go back to LWHC. Although, the more I use either one of these methods, the more I want to go back to using my 3 uncut heliums with 2 step aider.

Just curious, why do some of the big name saddle makers promote the use of the ropeman1 when it is not rated nor manufactured for how we use them for “tethers” as saddle hunters? Can they inherit liability from someone getting hurt after ordering it from their website?

Are you trying to tend the Prusik with all of your weight on it? Hanging from your tether?

I tended a jammy Prusik on OpLux effortlessly with one hand after putting all my weight in it, then removing the weight and tending.

No I am not putting my weight in the saddle while trying to tend. I was 1 sticking up the tree by raising the tether as high up on the tree as you can go. I then move the stick up again. Sometimes its nice to tend the slack in the tether to prevent the tether from sliding down. This will be the same with lwhc method. When I put the slack in the tether, it wouldnt slide either way. Maybe too many prusik wraps but I doubt it will ever be as convenient as a ropeman1.

Doesn't appear to be. Like how you painted the mini 8. :)

Thanks, I painted a kong quick link triangle for my tether (which makes it easier than running entire tag end through spliced eye) as well. Although, I am betting the paint will come off in no time. I am just worried that the quick link and mini 8 can be very shiney in the sunlight.

Interesting. Obviously not tending at the moment but this was my jammy configuration. Tested out the BlueWater sewn Prusik too.

I don’t have a picture yet but I tried a 1/2” T couplet PVC for my tender (paracorded it to the carabiner) and it works great too! $1.01 investment

Imade a double step order and since they were so inexpensive i threw in the triangle clip 1 and the figures 8 brass looking 1. Played with them today on my lineman's which is muddy lifeline and the prusikthat comes with it. It comes from the factory 4wrap or 8 ropes grabbing. I couldn't get either tender to work. I took a wrap out of the prusik and works great. Prusik seems to still grab real good with 1less wrap. Keeping 4 wraps on tether but still debating on the tender with linesman....
