DIY 3 ounce deer hoist

How do you attach to the deer?

Slit the skin at the knee tendons like you would for a gambrel. Girth hitch the short Dynaglide Loop through both legs. Next time i will use a stick between the knees to spread out the hams a little bit, like a single tree.

How bout a close up of the upper rings with the arrow toggle, thanks. Just want to make sure I'm seeing this right, thanks

This is really cool. I've gotten to the point where I can do a reasonable job gutless method, but there is still more hair to clean off the meat than when I skin one hanging from a gambrel.

I'll probably build a system to test out, but problem is most of the woods I hunt around here I think to find a tree with a reasonable horizontal limb to hang one on, I'd be just as well off dragging the deer to the truck. Trees just don't grow like that often around these parts.

Just waiting on the bear toggle to arrive and complete my kit. This is an awesome idea! I'm going to use the dynaglide as a pull down for my rappel rope and double dip.

How’s it work?

@mtsrunner is going to get a video. I should have done one while we were together last time. Here are a couple of pics I took to remember the hookup points. The only thing missing in those pics is to continue the rope through the other pulleys and use the bear toggle with a clove hitch to lock it once lifted.

Looks good, John. I have been crushed at work this week. Still haven’t made the video.

I mainly debone where they lay. It can be hard on my back, good to know there will be lightweight options when I’m old
