I'm only using it as a top ring with 4-5 steps so I wasn't all that concerned about the weight. I cut them out of 1.5" aluminum so they would be comfortable on my feet. I could easily make them out of 1" and take bulk out of them from the gusset and they would be pretty damn light. At 18-20” per step, I have several setups where I use 20 bolts (including the top ring)
20 steps at 1.5lbs a piece would be a 30lb solution for me....

You could definitely use a moveable aider with those puppies!
I think the way to get cost down is extrusion. Upfront tooling is gonna be the cost, then just cut them off like slicing bread. I had cranford rope steps milled to accept a strap/boat buckle. They are awesome.....but not as awesome as a platform. I abandoned any step on a strap ideas after the first hunt on a platform.

How much would cost be on something like this? I'd take that over WE steps or stick any dayDidn’t even think of that good call

Too much! Trying to work on it so it’s reasonable. My target is like $150 for a set

I work for a new hunting blind company called Raptor Blinds and we spray our all aluminum blinds with bed liner to deaden the sound that would probably be a good thing to try with these steps!Bonus points if you could make them coated with something to reduce noise. Something like plastidip, but sturdier?
